Interesting interview by Wilder but he sounds afraid to fight WK and hopes he retires - Wilder sounds so protected like he knows AH has his back still - wonder if Hearn owes AH any favors for getting AJ the belt when Charles Divertin tanked the fight to AJ -

Clearly you didn't read the article. He said wished Wlad the best if they do rematch and that if it delayed a future fight between him and AJ he was ok with waiting his turn.

Please quote the precise statement that Deontay Wilder made during that interview verbatim to justify your belief that he told the interviewer that he was "afraid" to fight Wladimir Klitschko?

It's an observation - even before WK vs AJ Wilder said an AJ fight was possible but he would not verbally commit to fighting WK if he won - Go back and read any Wilder interview - Just a sense - Wilder did claim he could fight AJ if AJ won - Now in this interview Wilder again sounds respectful but again reluctant to fight WK hoping WK looks in other directions - Of course it makes sense as Wilder got dominated by WK in sparring and WK said that Wilder has a very good punch but he can't take it at all - a WK vs Wilder fight makes sense if AJ has to fight Pulev first - Especially in that Wilder desperately needs a big name top fighter on his record (which he has NONE of yet) - Can't you read between Wilder's lines? He sounds hopeful that WK disappears from the scene - not because he's a good Samaritan but because of self interests - In boxing you have to read between the lines and the smoke and mirrors and with Fraud Squad Wilder there is a lot of deception protection and smoke & mirrors

Wilder really does need to fight someone with a pulse soon. His best win is over Stiverne.
Povetkin, Parker, AJ, Ortiz, Wlad, Fury or Pulev otherwise he's wasting his career.

So you dishonestly created a thread that makes a claim that you attempted to justify by quoting a random article that bears no relation to the topic of this thread?

One of the many great things about Wlad/Joshua was that is that if Wilder tries to bottom feed any longer it just looks that much more embarrassing for him.

What the Bum Squad or other similarly protected boxers say doesn't matter. Until he fights anybody good, it is all blah-blah-blah.

True and the clown tried to say he's rated higher than Joshua now - should be arrested for saying such a stupid sentence

He's begging Klitschko to retire now for about 3 or 4 years at least. He's obviously scared, he even said that if Tyson would lose against Klitschko, Wilder wouldn't want to fight Tyson Fury either.
We all know that Wilder is at the level of Pulev, Parker, Whyte, Takam, Chisora, Miller, Jun Long Zhang ish guys at max, and possibly even below, slightly under Povetkin and Ortiz for example. Sadly he refuses to fight such guys, he wants to skip them and fight the biggest cash cow in the division straight away. Which obviously makes no sense.
If you beat Povetkin, Ortiz, Fury, or Klitschko you deserve a spot, if you win against one of the guys mentioned above you could be chosen,

This. Wilder better start fighting some better competition or his star is going to fade quickly, and with it his earning potential.

Wilder's opinion about WK retiring is self serving. There was the biggest heavyweight championship fight in years and one of the greatest battles ever and Wilder had nothing to do with it. If AJ and WK go at it again then Wilder's going to keep on fighting bums for beer money for another year. It must have hurt to hear AJ call out the likes of WK rematch and Fury after the fight and no mention of Wilder.
Wilder vs. AJ is the best fight to make right now IMO. That's a toss up fight and who lands the shot first.

Exactly. Wilder the fraud wants WK out of the picture because he knows Klitschko would destroy his fraud a55. Self serving fraud controlled and protected by Al Haymon.

Wilder is definitely a tightly controlled lab experiment of a champion. No argument from me there but I do think that he has some talent and I think that a fight with AJ would be better than most think. But yeah, He's a fraud. Agreed.

At this stage the rematch with AJ is much more profitable than any other possible fight, and the rematch is contracted...so why WK will even consider it?
Top boxers fight twice a year only, so they have to talk a lot in between to stay in headlines...that's all.
And all this "he is afraid" bullsh#t....pro boxers fight whoever they are told by their managers. And those guys think in terms of risk vs profit...terms like fear are not relevant.
