He wasn't much better against Whitaker.

That fight was a draw. Canelo vs Chavez Jr. was not.

No reason for him to be embarrassed. JCC Jr did what he could. Junior doesn't have the skill, physical ability or hunger his dad had.
He is an above average pro at best, no where near the caliber of a top contender or champion. He stood in, took his shots and didn't quit.
He doesn't have the tools to beat a fighter like Chavez. Commentators and pundits saying he should have simply stepped in and threw more shots weren't the ones getting their face smashed by Chavez's counters.
