Namibian flyweight Paulus Ambunda became the first ever Namibian to win a boxing contest in the Olympics yesterday after a month of hard training with Ali Nuumbembe at Shannon's Gym in Manchester.
He fought non stop for 4 rounds and what he lacked in tactical ability he certainly made up with work rate, beating the lad from Venezuela 39 - 19 points.
As stated by Jim Neilly and Richie Woodhall he has a slight British connection now and it gives us another boxer to give a bit of support to.
I accomodated him while he was in the U.K. and he was a nice lad and a credit to his nation.
He now fights a german on Wednesday so good luck to the little man.
