Wilder said he wants Klitschko to retire now he may have to fight him

I told you Wilder is showing signs of fear to Wladimir Klitschko by saying he should retire. Well get this: the WBC just planted WK as the no 2 contender after Bermane Divestern. So Hoax Wilder's worst nightmare is upon him - he will have to fight WK if WK wants it. Klitschko never held a WBC title. Would be interesting to see if WK opts to take a patsy first then go after glass jawed hoax Wilder. And then the AJ rematch.

Wladimir Klitschko will only consider facing Deontay Wilder if he beats Anthony Joshua. So your concerns are a non-issue at the moment.

not so sure. aj has matured within
these 11 rounds and wlad knows it.
wilders is the easier opponent and
the money will be good as well ...

Is it possible that Wilder is not actually afraid of Wlad? Is it possible that he does not prefer to fight him and that he wants him to retire for other reasons?

Nonsense. It's not like countless fighters, including great champions, destroyed their health by fighting for too long.

no he is afraid. WK kicked his ass in sparring and it was easy work. Haymon can't buy off WK and the hoax of Wilder will finally be over when they fight. Read Wilder interviews before AJ vs WK, AJ was always feigning interest to fight AJ if he won but he never would commit verbally to fight WK if WK won. Now that WK is being lined up to fight Wilder, Wilder is silent. I guarantee you Wilder will not embrace the idea of facing WK.

Again, might Wilder's reasoning for preferring Wlad to retire be for other than fear? Can you set aside your blind hate / disdain for Wilder for a minute and consider objectively the alternatives?

I can read people and I read fear in Wilder. I know about the sparring :TU: Wilder is a carefully protected hoax. You can't seem to grasp or accept that.

What do you "know about the sparring?" Might Wilder not want to fight Wlad because he considers him a mentor and friend who he would rather not fight? Might that be the reason for Wilder speaking of meeting AJ and not speaking of Wlad?

Team Wilder's careful matchmaking is well documented, but that does not necessarily translate into fear on Wilder's part. I think that his matchmaking and his opinion on Wlad are unrelated.

I can't see that Wilder will feel any concern never mind responsibility for Wlad's physical wellbeing - if he does he is possibly in the wrong line of business.

My feeling is that Deontay thinks that if he has to fight a live one then make it Joshua which is a huge risk, huge reward fight. I doubt he is enthused at the prospect of fighting Klitschko in a huge risk, higher than average reward fight.

That's not fright that's commonsense.

I can't see Wlad wanting to take a way smaller purse to take on Wilder whether he regards DW as an easier opponent or not.

Shame though, I'd love to see Wilder fight Wlad ... or anyone that stands a decent chance of beating him.

Wilder knows he is a very very VERY carefully protected hoax and he does not want to fight anybody Al haymom cant buy off or manipulate - Al haymom can't buy off or fix Klitschko

I assume Wilder has to fight Stiverne first. Klitschko is going to fight Joshua again. If Klitschko wins, then the WBC would have to want a unification with the other belts Joshua currently has. Klitschko would no longer be a ranked contender if he beats Joshua.

OP dumb thread. Sorry, but Wilder can only unify or fight his mandatory. Saying he is afraid to fight someone he can't is beyond moronic.

What makes you think this??

And @Badhusker, I don't think Al Haymon can buy off Klitschko either, even at this point of his career, Klitschko is simply to big, especially compared to Wilder.

Wladimir Klitschko clearly stated multiple times during the AJ post-fight interviews/press conferences that if he did decide to step into the ring again, Anthony Joshua is the only opponent that he would be willing to face.

Not really. It's not possible for me to fight a polar bear but that doesn't mean I'm not afraid to. I'm not saying Wilder is scared of Klitschko necessarily, but in two and a half years he hasn't fought anyone threatening. Povetkin would have been a good test but that got de-railed by a drug test which is not accepted by everyone as being entirely on the level.

Another very good test would have been, and maybe would still be, Luis Ortiz but Wilder won't fight him because he once took PEDs. He's happy to fight Stiverne for a second time but didn't he once take PEDs? Oh but he's approved by the WBC so that's alright then.

I like Wilder and I think the heavyweight scene would be very much poorer if he had taken up basketball instead, but I want to see him fight a real, genuine, top contender preferably before he takes on Joshua.

It does make me laugh listening to "Tha Boxing Voice" Podcast when the very next day after Joshua beat Klitschko, the hosts are saying they don't want to see Joshua fight Pulev (and were lukewarm about a WK rematch) but that he should unify against Wilder. Callers suggesting he might fight one of his mandatories instead were sneered at as "putting up roadblocks". FFS the guy has had 19 fights, just beaten Klitschko and been champ for only a year. Wilder has done nothing of note in two and a half years yet they expect Joshua to fight Klitschko and Wilder back-to-back, and turn up their noses at the prospect of him fighting Pulev. When did Pulev attain pushover status?

Anybody here think Wilder would want to fight Joshua if Joshua lived in Lagos all his life and had no partizan UK fanbase, i.e. the fight was going to earn DW a few hundred K max? I for one don't think he would be remotely interested, he'd be looking at Parker or Bellew instead.

As far as I know he only said he decides later.

Watch the post-fight press conference, it's on YouTube.

Whilst Wladimir wouldn't commit to fighting again, he made it abundantly clear that if he did, he would only face Anthony Joshua. He also laboured over the fact that he has a rematch clause.

Of course, the man can change his mind, but I have chosen to take him at his word until I hear otherwise.

Yeaaaaaaah I'm sure Wilder is more concerned with Wlad's personal well being than he is preserving his "0". Riiiiiight.

Wlad is a gazillionaire. Wilder is thinking about Wilder and his own money making prospects going forward.

He's afraid Wlad will win the rematch and take some luster out of his eventual fight with Joshua.

Bingo!!!
If Wlad does beat Joshua the Joshuua vs Wilder fight is worth less than half of it if they were both undefeated.

Joshua vs Wilder 2 undefeated champions is the biggest fight that can be made in the heavyweight division
