Reportedly Vitali Klitschko became kickboxer in 1985 and complied a record of 34-2 (22 ko's)
Not too many of his Kickboxing or amateur boxing matches appear to have been video-taped (except maybe by his opponents)
It isnt clear what year this match was but one source indicates early 1990,when Vitali Klitschko was still only 19 years old.
and he is listed here at just 6 ft 5" and only weighs 205 lbs.

That bout was in 1992.
man,that was one freakely timed back- kick
,a spinning back-kick with all of Reid's weight behind it and his side of foot and heel landing straight on the
right mandibliblur region of Vitali Klitschko's jaw .
It didnt look like he didn't even saw it coming.
perhaps it was due to the cumbersome head-gear ?

Does anyone here have a listing of all of Vitali Klitschko's amateur boxing bouts ?
when did he have his first amateur boxing match?
I read somewhere where his amateur Boxing record was 195-15 ( 80 by KO ).
so it would seem his amteur boxing and kickboxing career overlapped at some point between 1985 and 1996.
( perhaps if his autobiography that was published in Germany in 2004 was translated into English,we
would have better information here concerning it)

I know one of his loses was a decision to Saleta who also started as a kickboxer (Vitali was only 17 years old at that time though).

Has any heavyweight champion in boxing also been the heavyweight champion in kick boxing?

Sort of makes you wonder if Vitali could have done MMA as well.

If you really stretch the rules... already mentioned Przemyslaw Saleta was kickboxing champion (real champion, though junior-heavyweight, not HW) as well as EBU boxing champion (this time real heavyweight... but as said, EBU champion )

So was Vitali Klitschko an amatuer kickboxer or a professional kickboxer at the same time he was fighting as an amateur boxer ?
I read somewhere where he won the World Kickboxing heavyweight title in Paris (France) in 1991.
