Stewart's manager Keith Stoffer said, "They (Hatton and promoter allegedly) wouldn't let us take a real fight.."

Just like Ricky then.

Even if Stewart were taken out of the equation we'd still end up with Spadafora. Check out the SN site.

Maybe we may get some luck, Stewart loses and Spadafora violates his bail, we may get Bosworth or I wouldnt rule out then bringing in a limping Magee for a rematch, surely that will calm the calls for hatton to step up against the best

Sadly, Frank has made sure Stewart can't lose - it's an exhibition. SN obviously realise Stewart can quite easily lose, no matter who he's facing.

This really is the nadir of Ricky's career. What a dog's breath of a stinker

I am embarrassed for all involved

Whilst I am with everyone 100% that this match shouldn't be happening. I think the tone of the board (in general) is a bit degrading towards Stewart. The guy is not a bad fighter who showed tremendous bravery against Mitchell. He's definately in the top twenty in the world.

Not saying the match is poor, but to call Stewart a joke is very harsh. He's not elite, but he would be ranked 3 in the UK if he were British. Do I here anyone call Lynes a Joke?

I think it's all down to context. If Lynes was announced as a Hatton opponent then i'm sure he'd recieve the same sort of treatment as Stewart. Yes Stewart is a decent fighter, but we've been told for so long that Hatton will be fighting the top names, so from that point of view this is a joke fight.

Oh yes agree, just its think some of the comments have been disrespectful. At best Mike Stewart should fight Hatton as a voluntary defence of a proper belt, but its not Stewarts fault he's got this opportunity. I just don't think he should be called a joke, because as a fighter he's not.

Sti johns is completly right.

I expect Hatton to win. However Shamba Mitchell's style was the worst possible style for Stewart. Stewart reminds of Juan Diaz with less skill. He is a straigh ahead forward puncher who keeps throwing punches, and outworks his opponents. He has had some very exciting fights agaisnt opponents he should have had an easier time with, but he has great heart. I expect Hatton to TKo him inside 8, but if Hatton doesn't stop him I could see Stewart winning a close decision
