GGG looking a bit soft around the middle!

From what I understand, based on multiple claims articulated by the media and fight fans in general, is that GGG is a “small” middleweight, a gym rat and is always pretty close to his official fighting weight, but these photos seem to debunk those claims:

Whilst I appreciate that the sport of boxing isn’t a body-building contest and there is plenty of time for GGG to get into fighting shape for his September date against Canelo, I am a little surprised that he’s carrying extra timber (based the same long-term claims that he been reiterated multiple times throughout the years).

One thing I know for sure, Gennady Golovkin will need to lose a fair bit of weight during training camp, which probably isn’t unusual for most fighters... I guess he doesn’t look too bad, since he’s not quite in “Tony Bellew-ish” shape. :TU:

He still has visible abs, he's not that bad.

..when is the next fight? middle of September? I don't think GGG fans have something to worry about at this point..

You’re absolutely right, Golovkin doesn’t look too bad, but he is carrying extra timber.

To be honest though, he currently looks to be a similar size to Sergey Kovalev at the moment, except a tiny bit shorter, but a whole lot chunkier (as per these very recent photos):

Golovkin appears to be easily be big enough to campaign at 175lbs, so I really don’t know why his team and himself persistently claimed multiple times that they’d only face Andre Ward at a 164lbs catch-weight.

n those photos he sure does look similar in size to Kov. But, he often looks the smaller guy at MW come fight time. Where as Kov looks like he fits in at LHW quite well.

Canelo is pretty much the same size as G too. So, in essence, what you are saying is that Canelo should have little issue sizewise fighting at LHW?

Your assumptions are wrong and I cannot comment on the events that only take place in your mind.

My educated opinion is based on the comparison of the very recent physical appearances of Sergey Kovalev and Gennady Golovkin when they were in each other’s company (as per these photos), which should be deemed as reliable evidence. There is no guesswork involved in the conclusion that I have drawn, since all I've done is applied the proverbial "duck test".

I have not asserted anything that could be deemed by any person (possessing mental capacity and at the very least moderate intellect) as being even slightly controversial in nature.

You conveniently left out the most pertinent fact; Krusher fights in less than a month and 3G fights in nearly 4 months. :OhYes:

So when you said that I had "conveniently left out the most pertinent fact"... once again you were talking pure utter fûckîng bûllshît?

Good for you kid! :TU:

Every Time EO starts a thread about GGG it's always tilted against GGG. Throw in Krusher as well.

I have not articulated any anti-GGG or anti-Kovalev sentiments in this thread.

Simply stating the obvious should not be deemed as being excessively critical.

People persistently lie about the things I have supposedly done, but nearly all of it is bûllshît. However, the same people are bizarrely offended and overly sensitive whenever I challenge their moronic claims.

Yeah. We all saw that in his last bout.

He's human, he's a lump of a guy for 5 10 ish. 24hr ripped look means next to nothing. Eat well for a few days minus the burn off, and the definition goes a bit, so what.
I'm old, not nearly notable level anything, not an active athlete but blessed with a standardly good form, and a week of eating fatty food shows with a jiggle; two weeks of eating well and I'm like a rack. In any form, this guy and his top 1000 plus contenders would smash fornicate out of me. Form like that on a guy like that doesn't mean much to me. He's got skills and muscle memory beyond a lot of his top contenders.
