Dosen't make since for him to win title for first time and Unify it with Thurman.Without having not least one title defense. Then again this could keep the best fighting the best on the other hand.

It makes perfect sense. He's a competitor and wants to be the best.

Okay say you are champion and you won your title for the first time, then unify it,and you lose it what then you lost your strap.Im not questioning Spence skills are doubting that he can't beat Thurman but anything is possible,it's boxing.

The fight game could use MANY MORE fighters with that kind of attitude!! :OhYes:

It would be great for the sport...

The way Boxing is, considering that Thurman just fought Garcia in his last fight and Spence just fought Brook I don't expect either one of them will be in AS significant a fight next time out. They'll both be in a less significant fight next time out in all likelihood. That's usually the way it goes these days.

1 big fight, 2 or 3 tune up/stay busy fights.

I don't think there's anything overly wrong about trying to immediately unify. However, I think the things most unwise about it are...
-You usually want to build-up some savings with a few easy fights to have a cushion. If there's a possibility that he could lose hard against Thurman and never be champ again, he would want to make some money before then. People could act like it's unthinkable for Spence to lose, get hurt, and end his reign as an elite fighter; but we've seen a lot of fighters like Jermaine Taylor, Jeff Lacy, Victor Ortiz, etc. who lose and get hurt at the same time, and never rebound.
-Spence should probably want to identify all of the mediocrities in his technique that were seen in the first 6 rounds of the Brook fight, try to fix them in his next training camp, and have a tune-up fight where he gets to practice all of the new adjustments he's made.

That's not the way Spence operates.. The Welterweight Division is loaded and Thurman just beat Danny Garcia.. He wants Thurman, but he'll take the best Welterweight he can get until the Thurmanator gets his arm patched up 100%. It's a given that Pacquiao, Khan, and Bradley don't want Spence as they've been ducking all the big punchers for years.
