Tony Bellew

Honesty starting to become boring!! When did he become this animal he makes out. He beat a very injured David haye and all of a sudden he's done it all. His calls of kell quit yesterday and kicking the man when he is down... doesn't he remember when he as good as quit against stevenson. He turned around covered up and basically invited the ref to stop it. Kell brook has to be the unluckiest fighter in boxing. He's the type who would land the perfect shot and put his knee out throwing it.

He's always been like this. Just a bit more nowadays

Fatter he gets, sadder he gets. I quite liked him when he was LW and even CW.

I expected some huge fights for Bellew after his Haye success. Dunno if they are still in the pipeline or maybe they won't happen after he mugged Hearn off. Never a great idea to bite the hand that feeds you.

He is a g***ite always has been always will be.
But tell you what I like him on sky. As he doesn't tow the company line and says what he thinks. He is the only decent person on their team since McCrory left.

He was also bang on when Marcus Morrison was getting smashed by Welborn on the Crolla undercard.
No one on sky would dare critisize Joe Gallagher but he did.

He was practically coming in his pants for the first few rounds he was watching Jamie Cox.
His comments about Brook were disgraceful. Particularly hypocritical after he left skid marks in the ring after Stevenson savaged him.

Can't stand the pudendum - even before last night's shameful comments I had him down as a first rate wanker.
As a boxer he's a Euro level, at best, plodder who's never beaten anybody even remotely world class. As a man he's a bit of an awkward character, has no charisma and some of the stuff he comes out with is cringeworthy - I carry power, dees fists dose kids dat table etc.
Smacks of a deep rooted insecurity brought about by an unpleasant upbringing I'm guessing. That's no excuse though.
Fight somebody proper fat Tony or fvck off back down the hole you crawled out of

I think he just wants people to keep talking about him while his hand heals.

Personally I am not a fan of him when he is selling his own fights or talking about his own career.
But I like him as a pundit, good technical knowledge, not afraid to give his opinion regardless who he upsets even if it is a close friend.
Not many on Sky who will put there neck out and say it exactly as they see it, whether the masses or his bosses agree with it or not,

Yes mate I don't really get too wound up when he's selling a fight but his work on Sky is good he said what a good fraction of fans were thinking yday

I prefer a pundit to call things as they see it, than tired auto queue clichés and scripted disagreements.
Give me people like Nigel Benn telling the watching millions on BBC that he prefers the boxing on ITV ant day.

How did he? Did he jump on the floor and beg the ref to stop it like kell?

Bellew comes out with some shite to sell his fights but that is his job and as I said on another post a few weeks ago, he has effectively earned millions out of a career worth a few hundred grand so you have to respect that. Should he sit down and be a nice little polite boy to appease some boxing forum people and throw away that money? Should he not be maximising his earnings? If I was a boxer, I would be trying to find the way to get the most money out of pockets that I possibly could and if for me personally that meant acting like Bellew, by god I would.
As a guy, everyone who knows him speaks highly of him and I met him and found him a damn decent guy.
As a pundit, I think he is refreshingly honest and you can see more often than not, he is speaking what to him is the truth rather than just giving political, evasive, if not downright dishonest party line answers.

His biggest wins were against a one armed Cleverly and a one legged Haye, both of whom showed more heart than Bellew did.
How he is somehow an authority on such matters is beyond me. Decent fighter, no one can deny that, but not the man he thinks he is.
If Froch was the one saying these things it would hold more water as he went to the well time and time again and knows what is required, but not Bellew

How is he gonna honest he says things like "I scare myself I would die in that ring" and he ran from Stevenson and turned his back because he wanted out he's far from honest

Bellew is a good pundit. He called it right about Brook on Saturday night. Brook decided to quit the fight in order not to risk his health and will now live with the consequences of that decision.
It matters not to me whether or not he has made recent money from the sport and is now wearing expensive clothes or watches.

Disagreed with his comments on Brook but generally he's surprisingly honest and doesn't always rim the ring of the house fighter, which other commentators with lovely straight noses could be accused of.
