No way broner is busy enough to make the fight even the slightest bit competitive

Props for him taking the fight though

Garcia wins a lopsided decision, and hopefully Broner's status drops to the point where he doesn't get to carefully pick his opponents and become somewhat relevant again. I'd like to see him just get fed to guys and beat the f*ck up for the rest of his fighting days after this loss.

Mikey stops Broner between rounds 6-10.

It's going to be glorious.

Can Broner make 140? Or will this end up being a 143lb fight or some shit...

How far up in weight can Garcia go and still be as effective?

Too many questions here.. though I doubt Broner comes in as serious as he should and gets beat. If he's on his game, could be a nice fight.

I have some fighters I genuinely dislike. Broner is one of them. I don't care much for Garcia either, but he'll have my support in this one.

For the record though, Boxing is always more fun when you have a strong emotional feeling one way or another toward a fighter. I'd rather watch a guy I hate hoping he loses than 2 guys I feel nothing about. A good fight is a good fight regardless, but even a dull fight can be interesting to watch if you have an emotional investment in the outcome.

I think he is already at that point. Hence getting fed to Garcia.

I don't know if this would necessarily be a case of "getting fed to" Garcia. Garcia has never fought above 135 and has never fought as big a name as Broner so a win for him isn't exactly guaranteed here, but yes I'm sure he'll be the betting favorite.

Given each of their skill sets, I'd say it's as close to a guarantee as you are going to get in this sport.

Also, the Garcia camp knows exactly what Broner brings to the table . Mikey was probably routinely schooling Maidana in sparring in prepartion for Marco's bout with Broner.

Oh there's definitely fights where the outcome is more certain than this. Cotto vs Kamegai for instance. Unless Cotto has a heart attack or slips and breaks his leg or some sh*t there's absolutely no way he'll lose that fight.

I'd say it's as guaranteed as this bout.... and possibly even more so. I'm not really familiar Kamegai, so can't confidently say that he is a sure thing for Cotto.

I'm just saying, I am very familiar with how Mikey and Broner fight. Broner has huge fundamental flaws that Mikey is sure to exploit. I don't really think it's going to be even mildly competitive.

I definitely think Mikey's gonna win it. I'd stop short of saying it's a sure thing, but yeah Mikey's gonna win.

This might be a good fight, Mikey testing the waters at 140 is appealing.
Any word on the venue ?

He could make weight July 29th is about 8 weeks away.
How heavy is he now ?

I also think that Mikey wins, but let's not forget that Salido broke his nose and had him quit due to that, so Broner has some chances.

Of course Garcia will be favored, but I'm not so sure he will dominate in a fashion some of you are claiming. Broner has a good chin, has good speed and power, and Mikey is going up to a weight he hasn't fought at. I agree he is probably testing the waters so he could maybe challenge Crawford to get revenge for a rather lopsided (if I remember right) amateur loss.

Anyway, if Broner comes in at his best, Garcia is in for a tough fight. Hopefully Garcia has a penalty clause for coming in over so Broner does it. I dislike Broner like the next guy but he can fight very well when his head is screwed on straight.

Middle of summer is a risk.
Good match up though.
