Was it the yoga?

Where does he go now?

Back to Booth? That Paddy bloke with the obsession with hiding his baldness? Penfold? Ingle?

He just needs to retire. Nowhere to go.

He can always train himself,i reckon he was an absolute nightmare to train,no matter the train said do he would say no do it like this lol. Hang them up, he is injury prone anyway

He's done. He was done anyway. Personally I'm not interested in him at all now!

I saw the article on Twitter and assumed he was calling time in his career, not on his partnership with mcguigan

Was a big Haye fan but his time has clearly passed

Curtis woodhouse suggests the rumour in boxing is trained by coldwell.

I'd be amazed if that's true.

All he's good for his carrying the hayemaker t shirts

Haye wanted to be the boss in the gym, you can't have a trainer like that

Haye won't retire he needs the money. Expensive life style, divorce...

He needs one more big payday minimum.

Did he look shot?

He looked like a fighter who wasn't using his weight properly on one leg and then it went completely. He was injured, hard to say whether or not he was shot.

Can't say I'm surprised. I'm struggling to see where Haye can go now, he needs a good big win, not knocking over no-hopers. I guess he will go straight for a rematch with Bellew and hope that lands himself a lucrative fight with AJ which he will lose and then retire a rich man.

His times up. He can come back by all means but his time at the tops done anyway. No one was more up for hayes comeback than me. But it was always under time constraits. He couldnt afford the whole bellew outcome. Even before bellew he left it to late between the cobra and bellew fight with time fighting against him. If he wasnt injured going in against bellew its over anyway. Only hope is he went in injured...otherwise hes not good enough to hang with the better heavyeeights.

Tactically it was a disaster under mcguigan. We,re too convinced they,d blow bellew away. They didnt even take a minute to find out what they we,re up against. Just too convinced bellew would fall as soon as haye landed. The problem was it didnt look like they,d worked on how to land. Just been hitting pads really hard by the looks of things. I think tactically groves is the same. Getting away with it the now but no sure he will against the better guys.

He should try ingle. More suited to his style. No sure the rest of the british trainers would do much for haye. Either booth or ingle. At this stage i m not sure either would be that up for working with. Got a feeling it wont be a big name. Haye needs to realise hes the fighter and not the trainer.

He's shot, body has packed up, he's trying to con a career now. it's always just one more payday... just one more chance.

Haye is hated here but he still is the second biggest name is British boxing and his ppv numbers back it up. Ask hearn. If he beats bellows in the rematch he is back in the big-time. Haye is still a cash cow but one more loss and it's game over

I'm not sure that 'shot' is the right description for Haye. I always tend to think that refers to fighters who's resistance has gone, typically older fighters, who often seem punch drunk and slurring. Toney, Jones, Holyfield; all sadly shot by the end.

Haye hasn't had that many fights, (fewer than Wilder and only six more than Fury), he isn't that old, (younger than Wlad, Povetkin, Ortiz, same age as Pulev), and is an Achilles injury really the sort of thing you can't recover from? Plenty of people across a range of sports have come back from similar injuries.

The whole David Haye comeback was a sham.

He fought twice in 2016.... for 3 rounds...
If hes lucky he will fight twice in 2017... against a fat cruiserweight...

Challenger for world level? lol fornicate off, if he was serious he would have bashed through the first 2 jokers within 3-4 months and took a decent fight to cement his place. He could have gone for the WBO title, tried to make a fight with Ortiz for his WBA ranking or even put his name in for the winner of Whyte vs Chisora..

Instead he tried to take the easy way out fornicating around with Bellew, and now that its backfired and the secret that he is a broken man is out... I expect we will see that fight milked again... and then again... and then Mr Haye will finally fornicate off back to celeb appearances for big brother or whatever shit he was latching onto before the career ending injury was fixed.

I wouldn't call him shot either, I think his mind is willing but his body not so able anymore. He has always been injury prone even as a young amateur and his pro career has been full of injuries too. No one can beat father time and the older you get its harder and takes longer for your body to recuperate. I imagine he can't train as hard as he used to for fear of crocking himself again.

Yeh I just think with the injuries that have accumulated over the years, his body is telling him what he needs to do. Remember when he retired with the shoulder and he said it's so bad I can never fight again. Now all of a sudden we're supposed to forget about that?

He looked shambolic against Bellew, wild swings, missing badly, he's had 3 rounds blowing away club fighters but as soon as someone stayed with him his body broke down. He needs to prove he can go 6-8 rounds against a half decent level of opponent before he gets any more PPV/big fight shots.

I predict a comeback would look something like:
a) Trying to jump straight back into a PPV shot at Bellew
b) Easy blowout of a nobody then straight into a PPV shot

The only reason for those approaches is because deep down I think he knows that if ANYONE can take him into 6-8 round territory then he's in massive trouble.

Agreed Hayes shot to pieces he might get more big fights but when it's gone it's gone! Booth would be there if he was in his prime still.

I think he was conning even against de Mori and against the Swiss based Kossovan. Legs and balance looked bad against the latter and he looked like he hadn't trained properly.

Think also that after he moved up to heavyweight he became more injury prone.

A good trainer will get him in condition , no problem , he's not that old , the leg will recover i would be more worried about the shoulder than the leg ,, Shanes a celebrity trainer , I keep saying it , i don't care who you are you don't wake up one morning and say Heh i think i'll get a job has a trainer of world class boxers , i'll do alright cos me dad was a boxer , i've hung around gyms and i had a few ameteur fights

Being a GOOD trainer is like being a good boxer , its learnt , and it takes time , you suffer an apprentaship and gain knoledge and experience , listen to the others and pinch everyones ideas , you don't become a good trainer because your dads in the know ..

Shane may be a good trainer in the future , but at the moment he's just lucky that TOP boxers have come to him , but they don't seem to be improving, he's to young to have learnt enough , up till now , Frampton got beat easy by tactics in his second fight ,, Haye looked shite even befor he done his ankle , OK he may have had an injury , but if he did , going in and carrying his legs so far apart would'nt of helped it , . Groves well good on him he just won a title but lets have it right his opponent whilst tough was limited , .. Technicly Shane just does'nt have the exoerience , he should go become a good apprentice for a couple of years

Haye under Booth and post Thompson always trained extremely hard. This was always clear.

Under McGuigan the opposite seemed clear to me. I'd say McGuigan almost knew how much dough he was going to be making and just took the role of the yes man trainer. Thankfully for McGuigan he has his rep with Framoton and Groves to fall back on.
