Not so long ago he was a super featherweight, now he fights at light welterweight. I mean broner won't be that hard of a headache, even so people underestimate ab cause he us lazy, yet still a lot of boxers would lose to him. Concerning future, how mikey do against the top light welterweights?

I think Broner cutting to 140 would be more of an issue than Garcia coming up to 140. Broner probably won't even make weight.

Weight won't matter in this fight, foot and hand speed will. Garcia will box Broner's ears off. Broner's only chance is to land a hayemaker, but I doubt he will be able to do so.

Garcia could end up top dog at 140. Once Crawford inevitably moves up the division is wide open. Would be an interesting fight if Broner turned up in shape and motivated but the guys a waste.

Garcia - Rojas was 11 months ago, and the weigh-in weights were 138 and 139. So no. There basically is no weight jump period. Not to mention that Broner has never been good enough to f*ck with someone as good as Garcia is supposed to be.

Garcia is a big guy. He's always been massive for every division he's in. Guy was a gigantic featherweight, and he was huge at SFW. Guy was built solid and coming in above 140 lbs. when he fought Martinez. IIRC, he outweighed Martinez, the natural SFW, in their fight.

I think Garcia is about the same size as Broner. Broner is just fat. I noticed that when he fought Granados. Granados actually looked like the bigger guy in the ring even though he's not naturally huge like Orozco and some of the other LWW.

Yeah, Mikey's always had a size advantage. I'm sure he doesn't enjoy the effort to make 140 as it is. There is no weight jump, just less of a cut.

No question, I'm amazed so many ride that focus train with broner. I've never seen him fight differently. As for Mikey, he just fought at 140 and looked fine. No worries there.

I am certainly not claiming that he cannot compete there, but his size advantage evaporates completely at 140. In fact, he isn't what I would consider big for 135. Compared to Zlaticanin he was large, but there is plenty of competition at 135 that he would not have a size advantage over.

Thanks for the link. According to that I would have to agree Mikey will not be returning to 135. I find it unfortunate that he found it necessary to take such a long layoff. He could have more naturally grew into the weight.

I am still not convinced that he is big for the 135 division. Not being able to make weight does not necessarily translate into a matter of size.

I don't see any challenges for Garcia going up from 135lbs to 140lbs. Broner will be a big name to add to Garcia's record. The real question here is how will Broner (with all his overweight issues) will be affected.

I don't know if Broner can make the weight but if Garcia goes to 140 that just about kills the Lomachenko fight....so your on to something there. This is one fight I will be rooting for Broner, just cause Garcia's action has made a Lomachenko and himself match up less likely.

You're an idiot. Lomachenko is fixing to rematch Salido. You're telling me Mikey should not move up and fight Broner for money?

I've been pretty critical of Mikey Garcia's resume and the way he's conducted his career thus far but I'm fairly impressed by him signing on to fight Broner. But Mikey was Maidana's main sparring partner for Maidana leading up to his fight with Broner so I think that he feels that he has a good lay of the land with Broner.

But i will say that if we finally get a Broner near 100% then this will be a fight. A really good fight.
