Canelo - GGG: what's your pick?

by man
to me canelo has a 35% percent of
making it. i don't think GGG is fading,
he just faced great opposition as of
late and he would be my favorite.
size wise i think we will see not much
difference, since GGG is no big middle
and canelo always made weight to
compete slightly below middle.
good thing is that canelo is a solid
technician who can take a punch. he
is not as fast as brook, so i could imagine
GGG finds him easier.
all in all a great matchup, since both
guys are still close prime IMO.

Really hoping for a GGG quick ko over Canelo.
Only to put a nail in GBP

I think Canelos defenses going to surprise alot of people and make GGG miss alot. Canelos will have alot of success countering GGG as well. I got Canelo in a close but clear UD.

Agree with this except by possibly a split or majority decision. I will hope for a KO by GGG. Canelo will probably have two scores slightly in his favor or at least one, but he will have another something like 118-110. GGG has to totally dominate or get a KO to win. A trilogy between these two is a strong possibility.

i doubt that happens. canelo is too
strong and technically stable to fold
quickly and GG would be unwise to
press for too much too early. canelo
is no newbie anymore, he is a top
p4p fighter. maybe not no1 as boxrec
sees it, but definitely a man with much
experience in his prime.

Oh I seriously doubt it happens either.
Just wishful thinking

Why do you hate Golden Boy? Canelo aside, they have shown a much greater willingness to put their guys in tough than many other promoters.

I feel Oscar is nothing but a fake. A real jerk.
It's just an opinion

168kg = 370lb
Chavez Jr is big, but he's not that big.

I'll be betting on Canelo by decision. Don't see him losing if he sees the final bell, barring multiple knockdowns.

GGG gets robbed on the cards in this one. No way GGG wins without scoring a knockout. Not possible that Golden Boy doesn't have these judges in his pocket. Every close round, and there will be many in this one i feel, will go to Canelo. Canelo has a great chin and we've only seen him hurt once in his career and it was early on.
It's going to be bad for boxing because once again, the sport will have world attention and once again, it will shoot itself in the foot with a horrible decision that will make more people promise to never watch it again.

GGG wins by TKO, stopped sometime in rounds 8-12. Canelo is good, but GGG is great.

Canelo has shown multiple times that he does not like pressure at all, even in his easy fights like the ghost of Kirkland. Golovkin's pressure is going to mentally break Canelo down. Golovkins jab is going to do damage every round and disrupt Canelo's combinations, and Canelo's overrated power will not have near the effect some are praying for. It simply won't. It may be enough to keep GGG honest for 4-5 rounds max.
People seem to forget. One of these guys has already been dominated, beat up, made to look a fool. By a smaller, soft puncher no less. Dominated in the biggest fight of his life. When Golovkin is walking through him and beating him badly Sept.16th, that same feeling will be present, only this time he won't be let off the hook. Golovkin stops him inside 10.

Two years ago, I think GGG would have stopped him inside six rounds.
But he has aged and slowed down a little in 2017. Now, I see a competitive fight where GGG wins via TKO in nine, with Canelo making a good showing in a losing effort.
