Who is your biggest active fighter nearest too you.

I would say Chris Eubank Jr is the closest to me, as I'm from Brighton (but I'm not to sure CEJ actually lives in Brighton anymore.)

Mark Heffron from Middleton

Bilal Rahman from Rochdale

Fury's from Stockport/Wythenshaw

I don't follow many locally tbh.

In Greenock you've got John Simpson who was supposed t be making a comeback last I heard. There's a couple of prospects as well. Sam Ball being the most likely to go on to title level.

In the my home town of Paisley just up the road you have Kris Carslaw but I've not spoken to him or heard anything about him in a long time so I don't know if he's jacked it in or not. Last I heard he was going back to welter which sounded a strange move.

Ricky Burns is from Coatbridge which is on the outskirts of Glasgow. That's about a 45 minute drive give or take. He's probably more local to Tomasino.

As there is no one in north yorks i can think of i will go with the leeds boxer josh warrington.

Warrington has a huge fan base like the huge ex premiership club Leeds Utd.

Being from Bristol it's Lee Haskins. I actually saw him last year at Bristol City vs Derby.

Growing up it was Lloyd Honeyghan but now I live over here I suppose it's Keith Thurman although he's 50 odd miles away.

Saying that I did drive up to his hood the other week just to buy a large jar of Marmite

Probably Liam Williams for me. Don't think we'll have another local fighter like Calzaghe for a while...

Perhaps Rico Verhoeven, a 270 pound heavyweight kickboxer, several times champion of the world, but most of you probably have never heard of him.
He was the sparringspartner of Tyson Fury when Fury beat Klitschko.

Deffo Sam by us. Shows locally are poor at the moment tho not enough 50 50 fights being made.

Maley' any decent Wolverhampton lads on the way through , seem an age since Dean Harrison had a bit of success at area levels etc, I always here about a am club that's well ran etc, but no sure of the fighters down that way now

You must be quite near me. I'd through in Matty Ryan for Middleton too. Alex Rutter too, if he's even still fighting any more. Darryl Sharp another (popularity wise anyway). All in terms of local popularity, if not any actual real success.

He brought hundreds here. Got knocked out as well. He's back next month.

Local to me are Tom Doran who fought Eubank jr last year and Paul Economides.

He used to live close near here yes, he grew up here, but he's the only top contender active in boxing.
He's 10 times champion of the world in 6 differend weightclasses, he's not a 270 pounder, like Rico Verhoeven, but he's not the kind of guy that surrenders. When he broke his leg in a fight his mum was there, he comforted his crying mum instead of the other way around.
That's the type of guy that grows up here, here and just here, we're not close in any other way, but yes I support him, that's the way I grew up.

Yeah Dean was good lad just rushed into oppunity that he probably wasn't ready for. Their is Lennox Clark big punching super middleweight about 15-0 but untested tho. Ricky summers fights for British title against buglinio his got a massive step up from the level his boxed at.. Their seems to b a lot of lads turning over of late Just a lack for 50 50 fights top of the bill.

Kieran smith, who beat Bradley Pryce at the weekend, lives in the same town as me. I think he might actually be at the other end of my street.

In staffordshire anyone half decent has now retired. Only a few low level domestic fighters anyone would know, i guess andy keates is the only name anyone who follows boxing would recognise now
