Lennox Lewis doesn't realize it's not the same era of the sport anymore. Anthony Joshua would make FAR more money fighting his career in the U.K. I'm sure. There is really no incentive for him to come to the U.S.

I mean if he does that's cool, but there's certainly no reason why he MUST.

At some point if it all goes to plan Joshua will have more money than he can ever spend - at which point he can look at ticking a few boxes off. It may not be the be all and end all anymore but I can't imagine he wouldn't want a big Vegas fight.

In lennoxs time there was tyson, bowe, Holyfield at the top. Even after that the contenders like mercer, Morrison, razor (Canada) were decent enough fighters to travel for and build your profile.

I don't see the logic either, AJ has 2 of the belts already and is a huge box office star in his own country. Wilder doesn't seem to want to fight anyone with a remote chance of losing his title to and Parker imo would gladly bring his WBO strap to UK for a good payday vs Joshua.

I think a big Vegas fight would be interesting. Whatever you say about boxing in the US right now, if he could capture their imagination over there as well as here then he will hit a new level of payday.

He wasn't that popular in the UK until the end of his career though, Joshua's popularity over here is something else, he sold out Wembley and could have sold it out twice and sold over a million PPV's.

AJ doesn't need to fight in America. They don't have the names over there that they once did. I'm sure he'll end up going over if the price is right but with US television broadcasting him from here anyway and big stadium fights I don't see the point unless it's a marketing excersise.

Arguably the biggest fight that can happen in boxing just now is between two Brits as well.

Definitely, Lewis had independence, wouldn't sign with the big U.K. or US promoter.

Industry, and the media on their side, wanted him to lose.

Lewis maintained an aloof personality, did it his own way, frozen out if the big fights and the industry kept him on the outside after his first setback.

I'm actually a big admirer of Joshua. Twice proving he can fight, rallying back from near disaster. Showing great heart and recovery. Picking his shots well versus Martin and Molina, showing some poise and maturity. And I don't buy into "if Wlad..." then Joshua would've lost nonsense. I don't constantly criticise his so called Hearn controlled personality.

However, he has the entire UK industry and media on his side. He is truly one of life's lottery winners. That medal, which the whiners say he didn't deserve to win, in London to boot, is truly his ticket. Pales by comparison to Lewis', won by stopping Riddick Bowe . When AJ falters the boxing establishment will pick him right up.
