A few years ago on BS I mentioned that he wasn't in the best of shape.

I got accused of being gay

But I've seen him fight a few times & the bloke has talent. Many had him beating Parker or at least the fight could have gone either way.

But he weighed 255 for Parker, has been as high as 297 but never less than 246. So could he get down to Cruiser? I dunno. But at 6'2" he's short by todays heavy standards.

Does he have any future in the heavyweight division? He's more talented than Wilder & possibly Joshua but hard to see where he goes when he's the equivalent of a tubby Welterweight fighting at Light-heavy.

He's got loads of fat on him, and I don't believe that he's actually 6'2".

I think cruiser would be very doable if he had the drive.

I think his trainer wants him to stay obese.

I think he'd be lean at 175lbs.

With that much extra weight he has no busyness mixing with the top heavies. He must go down to around 220. Then we will see. With added agility, stamina and even more speed he could be effective enough against larger guys.

Is that why he could not get in the range as soon as Parker start moving. He cant carry that much weight around the ring comfortably.

He was outboxing Parker in mid range because of better accuracy. But then Parker start sticking and moving and Ruiz had no answer, could not keep up with Parkers foot speed. If he gets in shape he will be more effective.

We all saw last night what Mike Perez looks like now. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Ruiz could make cruiserweight if he had the time training and absolutely had to.

Tony Bellew is taller and has more reach and often fought below cruiserweight, so yea, should be possible.

I still like the fact he's fighting at heavyweight somehow.

He'd be a cruiserweight world champion for sure.. possibly light heavy too..

If Floyd beats mcgregor Ruiz could be next? Catchweight 148lbs
