Any news on Trey Lippe? Not fought since December last year and nothing in the pipeline.

Nothing. I don't see him as a very top prospect in the HW division, IMO the best in ascension with few fights with quality opponents is Sergey Kuzmin. The north American undefeated HW Adam Kownacki will get tested in his next bout.
... and the one I would love to see facing a real tough opponent to get tested is Jun Long Zhang.

I'm not sure if he is going to make any impression on the upper reaches of the rankings but he clearly seems to have inherited some of daddy's power as I'm sure Ed Latimore found out, among others. That makes him an exciting fighter to watch.
Obviously it wouldn't make commercial sense at this stage, but what a fight that could be ... Trey Lippe Morrison v Sergei Kuzmin. Don't blink you might miss something.

I've said ages ago that he could become a top 20 ish guy, but he doesn't fight very often indeed.

Lippe could have an injury. He could be working hard in the gym, playing catch up.
His problem is two-fold. He's very inexperienced, not going past two rounds. He's also a 6'2" man with a 75-inch reach living in the world of much bigger opponents, the better of whom can jab and hit him.
He needs to learn how to cover and counter, and how to set things up with his jab.
He is rather athletic and has his father's power, so in theory, he'll always have a puncher's chance.

I agree with that assessment, he has some disadvantages. At leasr he has a good trainer in Freddy Roach to help him learn how to make the best of them.
He can participate in some cracking fights if they take care not to overmatch him.

- Last I heard, Son of Tommy broke his hand training for his next fight a while back.
Not the best of news for a slugger, but he has a strong upside or Freddie wouldn't take him on. We'll see soon enough, but also has a half brother undefeated with less press adulation. Fruit from the tree falling not so far and all that.

That's James McKenzie Morrison (the half-brother). He's unbeaten but was held to a draw on two occasions by unimpressive opponents whose names I don't recall, and would probably mean very little to most of us if I could.
It doesn't bode well and although he's worth keeping half an eye on, he definitely doesn't have Trey's or Tommy's power. He's consequently more of a stand-up boxer.

I actually talked to Trey today and he remains in training in California and should be back from his injury soon. Trey has grown probably more then anyone I've seen before and for obvious reasons they are taking their time with him. I've probably seen about five of his fights. His brother is probably best suited for cruiser but has added some bulk since he first started.

I've heard Tyrone Spong also lives in Florida, have they ever met? Or would Trey like to fight him?
