Bellew vs. Haye II (December)?

"David Haye 'badly' needs Tony Bellew rematch, says Eddie Hearn"

Hearn has admitted a rematch with Haye is "most likely for Bellew", despite the possibility of a world title shot in the future, and revealed that the 36-year-old will be offered the same terms that the Liverpudlian accepted for their first meeting.

"Tony is up for the rematch and the biggest thing for him is getting the respect in the negotiations that he had to cower to in the first fight," Hearn told Sky Sports News HQ.

"Haye said after the first fight that he knows there are many things he has to do in the rematch and he has to give Tony respect, if he does that then the rematch can happen and can be done very quickly."

Although Haye has earmarked October as the likely month of his return, Hearn believes that December would be the preferred option to ensure the Londoner is fully fit.

He continued: "I think with David's injury, although it looks like he might be ready for October/November, we leave it for December to make sure he is 110 per cent so that he can prove that to the fans in his preparation for the fight.

"The public want to see the rematch and although I believe Tony can beat WBO champion Joseph Parker and become heavyweight champion of the world, part of me wants the Haye rematch so that Tony can show he can win that fight without any excuses."

Thoughts?

I'd love it if Tony kicks Haye's ass again. I'm down for it.

Good.
Bellew getting a world title shot would have been a joke.

Haye is done and should have no ambitions beyond another Bellew fight and Bellew should have no greater ambitions than this based on fighting a one legged man. Get it done and hopefully both can retire.

It was a hype show last time but damn it ended up being entertaining.
It's the old adage, if people don't want to see it, don't tune in I suppose.
I'll be watching it, but I will be under no illusions that this is a world class contest.

Tad hypocritical, as I'm openly rather critical of PPV shows, but I won't be paying for it so :maybe:

Hope Haye flattens him this time though

If Haye can fight without breaking down through injury, Bellew gets beat

Haye needs a new trainer, to stay healthy and come in around 215lbs. It clearly wasn't working with Shane and he looked slow as hell since he returned. Haye pre layoff obliterates Bellew. But, can he get back to that. Klitschko loves the life, but from what I understand Haye prefers to party.

I wouldn't begrudge these two a last good payday and it may even be a fight worth watching, but in terms of how it will impact on the heavyweight division ... well it won't, other than perhaps setting up the winner as a sacrificial lamb for Joshua or even Wilder so as to go out with a massive pension-pot.

I'll watch it but not PPV.
