No. My two oldest boys are always on at me to take them but I'd be too paranoid. I've been to plenty of shows that have passed without incident but on the other hand I've also been to plenty where it's kicked off. One things for sure, it doesn't take much for things to go south at a boxing event.

My oldest two are 9 and 10 so maybe in a few years I'll reconsider but certainly not any time soon.

There used to be pro shows in the Gorbals in Glasgow and they were on during the day. I had considered taking them along to one of them but they seem to have stopped. They'd probably end up bored at one of they shows as well. I let them watch the big shows on tv so they've obviously got an idea in their head of what it's like and me taking em to a small hall show would no doubt be a bit of a let down in comparison.

My lad use to come to small hall shows with me but I wudnt take him to arena shows. I was lucky cause I sold a lot of tickets for my cuz the promoter let me have half price ticket for my lad.

My daughter is 7 and a stupidly good swimmer (helps she's got size 5 feet).
She has coaches travelling from all over to coach her and trains 6 days a week. Sometimes twice a day. Don't forget she's 7 and it's her idea i'm not pushy.
Her dream is to swim at the Olympics when she's 16. Its remote but not impossible.

Unfortunately her dad's boxing gene seems to of passed down. A few weeks ago she bursts into the living room at 2am (she went to bed at 8, I'm up for the Canelo fight) she had on her dressing gown, my boxing gloves and orange peel as gum shield on).
Unfortunately she can also punch properly and hits decent on the pads. I wouldn't let her box in a million years and if I took her to a show I'd be scared she's become a boxing fanatic like her old man.
Got a horrible feeling in 3 years swimming could get binned for the noble art. I bloody hope not.

took my eldest daughter to a few amateur shows that involved lads from the local club,she was only 9 or 10 at the time. always a good atmosphere at them and never any bother at the shows i took her to.

Amateur yes, pro not til at least 16

My children are 2 years old and 6 months old at the moment, so probably a touch young. But I look forward to the day they're old enough to take to shows. My dad was never really into boxing, but my mum is a fan and took me to an early Calzaghe show, great memory.

Went to a show at the Liverpool Echo Arena 2 years ago. Caught in the middle of a full blown fight between Tom Stalker and Jack Catterall fans. It was shocking. it was all around my Dad and I. I seriously thought we would be drawn into it. My Dad is 69 years old for f*** sake.

Back in April was at Smith Vs. Williams in Manchester. Fights all over the place from that fight onwards. Smoking openly in the toilets and someone took a dump in the middle of the toilet floor.

I was at the last Ricky Burns fight also in April. No fights but stuck in about all sorts of total nuggets coked out their head and totally pissed up. Pints of piss being lashed on the people below.

Under no circumstances would I take my son to a professional show. He loves the sport but it has some of the worst behaved fans in sport.

If the child wanted to go I would. I've never been to many shows myself, but that's about to change.

No, Baseball is the only sport I would take a child too. Though I did take my ex's daughter who I pretty much raised to a preseason football game. Then again, live boxing kind of sucks so it's rare that I'd consider going myself.

Yep, it would have been a treat to have gone to a few shows when I was a lad.

I think it's fine for children to watch boxing as long as that's what they want to do. That said, I would avoid cards where it can be expected to kick off.

Mine have been to loads, even when they didn't want to! My eldest enjoyed it, amateur was fine, but I knew everyone there! Khan world title shot, there must have been ten serious fights in the crowd, he didn't flinch. He wouldn't, I mentioned it on a different topic in OT. I never drink if am with my kids and I am seriously unruffled by most things, especially boxing idiots. I've seen hundreds of fights, as long as they're not mine, carry on, lads....

A lot depends on where a fight is.
Some places are mellow and some are tinder box's.
I've been to a fight in a small venue 500 or so, and seemingly out of nowhere, it kicked off. So no way. It's too risky.
If the nagging gets too much, the safest bet would be dry venue, non pro, daytime.

I took my daughter to watch amateur shows when she was about 6. I took her to the commonwealth games in Glasgow in 2014 when she was 10 to watch boxing.
I don't have a problem with her wanting to watch boxing or even if she fancied it herself.

I don't think I would take her to a big pro show as they are on too late and too many fannys at them- but maybe once she was about 16 I would.

Times have changed. Sadly a lot of people have no concience, morals, and high exposure to violence. Mix that with binge drinking and anphetimine based drugs and you have a cocktail of fightyness.

Well, in the US, if anything there was more violence in the 70s and 80s than now. I have never felt unsafe at a fight...wary maybe, but never truly worried.

Fair enough. I said in my initial post that it depends where it is.
I don't want to name any British Scots or Irish home toons, but there are the odd places with a higher chance of kicking off than others. Just as there is anywhere in the world. The closest town to me is what we would describe as "rough as guts mate"
And I would probably not take a kid to the carpark, let alone a fight there.
I'm going to an am boxing night tonight with the missus, and she has strict orders for flat shoes and no handbag.

Not until they've sat through a few full cards on TV.

I'd need to know that it's a) not just a passing fancy and b) they have the stamina to give it their attention for 4-5 hours.

Age wise, just whenever they can do that. If that's 10 or 16, whatever.

I'd definitely start them at small hall shows, where (at least round here, I can't speak for everywhere) there's next to no bother in the crowd. In fact I can't recall a single scuffle, let alone brawl like you get at Arena shows tbh.

Likelihood of your child being caught up in crowd trouble is almost non-existent surely and even if there was a bit of trouble, no one is going to smack a child ffs. If you are worrying about chair throwing, well jesus that is just paranoia. Hell yes I would take my child to a boxing match and last year took my daughter to GGG v Brook with no problems.

I've been everywhere, The MEN loves a kick off. Virtually every time. Elland Road, Leeds as well. There's only none when Josh fights because it's 100% Leeds. Manchester for me tops the list, and they wouldn't be bothered if kids were watching.

Absolutely and I have in the past. Would depend on the fight obviously. I can't be arsed with the hassle of Fury/Saunders cards by myself never mind with the kids.

No under 18's allowed at Elland Road on September 1st show.

My dad used to box but had never been to a pro show! I took him to Scott Harrison v Victor Santiago for his birthday years ago. We went to Pizza Hut before it and had a few beers and pizza. He loved it but the beer was shite and too expensive. We went in and watched the whole show though and it was a cracking night.
