I thought WBU (USA version) heavyweight champion, Adam Braidwood fought a non-title affair against Tim Hague yesterday.

Hague is now brain dead...only a few weeks after David Whittom...

I'm more interested in Mladen Miljas TBH, he's a really interesting guy who, over time, could become a top 20 heavyweight in my opinion.

I have tried to get his fights & have yet to see any of the 4 fights he has had. You have seen him fight? Kean just won by 5th round stoppage over Nascimento last night. Braidwood is 33 & has a good win over Bahoeli. He called our Carman & Kean last night.

Mladen Miljas has 5 fights, and has another one scheduled in august as far as I see here on boxrec.
But go ahead, approach him, I have no connections to him, he just seems to show muchpromising numbers and for what I can find about him he got a good attitude as well. Even a rematch in a couple of years would be nice to see I think.
Also, I'd like to see Tyrone Spong involved. A guy who travels all over the world to find opponents.

So you have never seen Mladen fight? How can you go off what you see on boxingrec or read about? I don't see how you can say he will be a top 20 HW if you have never seen him fight. I'm confused. What do you mean go ahead & approach him? I asked you if you have seen his fights. I have tried to locate copies of his first fights but have had no luck. His opponents have a combined total of 27 fights (19-8 record). I'm curious where you come up with your opinion of becoming a top 20? He is now with an Ontario promoter but should have moved to Quebec in my opinion. He is big at 6'6 225. He fought in my city of Edmonton in December against the guy Braidwood put in a coma Friday. A rematch with who? I'm kind of confused on who you are talking about. I thought you were talking about Miljas...

I think Kean is better than both

I have googled him after seeing his boxrec stats and noticed he got everything in him to become something big in heavyweight boxing. He's tall enough, strong enough by the looks, serious enough (training on 3 different gyms in his youth already and intelligent enough, doing university meanwhile.
And he has high goals, he wants to become the best of Canada I read. So that basically formed my current opinion on him. And he's still quite young, so got potential to grow even more. Also note that he never fought someone with a losing record, that's unusual this early in his carreer, especially these days.

Sure he is one to follow but I would say calling him a potential top 20 HW is pushing it at this stage especially if all you have done is READ about him. I have no idea how you can make an assumption that he is going to be a top 20 HW is you have never seen him throw a punch on TV let alone live. I'm looking for his fights but unless someone records it on a camera I doubt there is much footage out there. Usually the fights are recorded in Edmonton by our local writer but I can't find his fight with Hague anywhere.

He got his instagram, which shows a bit, but indeed not much yet.
I've said similar things about Tyrone Spong when he only had 1 fight, because I knew the guy, I've also said similar things about Jun Long Zhang when he had about 6 fights.

Spong hasn't exactly lit it up. Sure he beat Davit Gogishvili when he was 12-0 but he is now 18-6 & he feasted on guys from Georgia. In 2017 he beat 3 guys with a combined record of 6- 40-1. I only seen Spong fight 3 times but I would hardly say he has done anything in the sport. 9-0 record against nobody. Spong has done absolutely nothing. How many times have you seen him fight? Howabout Zhang? Do you just look at pictures & boxingrec to determine if a guy is good or not? I'm just curious how you come up with these ideas. A person should never comment on a fighter if they have never seen him fight. Boxingrec may say TKO1 but that could be because of injury. Unless you watch the fight or have actually read about what happened how could you know? I use to see that lots here & on BS. We call those people boxingrecers. Guys who look at boxingrec & comment about a fight or fighter but have never actually watched the fight. Unless you watch a guy fight you shouldn't make assumptions about him or comment on his fights. Unless of course you state you never watched it first.

I bet he's just going by Miljas's physique. Hardly anything out there on MM to judge whether he has top 20 potential, though I doubt most guys with that ability are amateur and pro unknowns at 25.

I knew Spong already, and he's a 10 times champion of the world in 6 different weightclasses including heavyweight in kickboxing. Jun Long Zhang simply showed better stats as Deontay Wilder for example against Jason Gavern and similar to AJ. And he also KOed that guy who hasn't been KOed in well over 10 years. 25 years is quite young for a heavyweight, just look at Wilder for example.

It is young, but there is pretty much nothing out there on this guy. I dont think he accomplished much as an amateur (Wilder was an Olympic medalist at 23) and he's fought weak opposition as a pro. The majority of guys like that don't become top 20 fighters.
Maybe he should fight that giant South African guy whose hands couldnt fit into his gloves....Ruann Visser.

Sad about Tim Hague coming so soon after David Whittom.
The Canadian Heavyweight scene seems as lively as I've ever seen it. I was never that impressed with Carman but Kean and Braidwood look like prospects to keep and eye on and then there's Oscar Rivas domiciled (His career seems sadly to be held back by eye problems, I hope they can sort him out but I guess if there was an easy medical solution, they'd have fixed it already
![[icon_e_sad.gif] :verysad:](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)
) and there's Miljas. It's too early to know far he's likely to go, but he's certainly big enough and seems to have good power and decent basics.
I've only seem a short clip of him beating up a rather spirited oompa-loompa called Carlos Carreon but he showed patience and a good left hook. Kean like Rivas is a former top amateur and lower down the food chain you've got decent fighters like Eric Bahoeli and what's his name who won and lost against Carman ... Sylvain something or other?
Maybe Kean or Braidwood could go on to emulate Chuvalo - now there was a fighting man! - or who knows, maybe get even further?

I now also see that Mladen Miljas TKOed Tim Hague in the first round as well, I didn't knew this.
David Vyletel, a 5-1 guy in your first fight is much saying as well, in fact Mladen Miljas never fought anyone with a losing record.
Ah well, we'll see, he seems quite active, if he can continue to stay active, I think he will become something.

I don't have much hope for Braidwood or Carman beyond the Canadian scene and the Commonwealth scene with guys like Lenroy Thomas, Allen, and Cornish. That said, they are both hard hitting and fun to watch, and that keeps me tracking their progress.
Kean has more potential, though I think he'll always be a bit basic. Miljas, well, I know pretty much nothing about him.

There is just one funny thing about Canada, Stiverne is Canadian and any reasonable talent got a fair chance against Stiverne. If you beat him, you got a high boxrecrank immedietly thanks to a lot of political bullshit.
