Do you agree with the result of Kov vs Ward?

It was an interesting fight, too many hugs, both fighters didn't find themselves too much in the fight, few good punches connected, Kovalev faking low blows few times (that Weeks got him) and etc. In my scorecard was 67-66 for Ward (77-75 if counting 8th).
But do you agree with the stoppage? Ward did a pretty good hit in the 8th round and that cost almost a minute to Kov get recovered back (to almost 100%) and in my opinion the fight could continue, Ward hit 1 punch and 1 low blow in last fight seconds but the faking low blow hurt acting of Kovalev (possibly to get time and air as if both punches were low blows) cost him the loss. What do you think about?
*IMO even if it reach 12 rounds Ward would win 116-112.
As far as I know this is a picture of low blows and not low blow -

The stoppage was definitely premature. Weeks should have given Kov a standing 8, but his quick stoppage only hastened the inevitable. Kovalev was fading fast and most likely wouldnt have made it past the 9th.
Like Paulie Malignaggi said as a commentator on the Sky TV livestream the premature stoppage denied Ward the legit, more emphatic stoppage that would have come in another minute or so.

"Another minute or so" would have been the end of the round. Ward landed the best shot of his career and couldn't even drop Kovalev who had recovered and was on steady legs by the time if the bogus stoppage.

No standing 8 counts anymore. He could have called the foul, if he saw it and that's it.

I don't think they did. He didn't sag onto the ropes rill after the final blow and just after Weeks waves it off.

i can see why it was stopped kovalev wasn't punching back and had curled up on the ropes and i think kovalev was trying all fight to get ward a warning for low blows so he would stop throwing body shots but many of the shots were low by ward .kovalev was hurt by a right 30 seconds or so before the stoppage i think he would of been stopped if ward had gone to the head as well kovalev might of got through the round i don't know, a standing 8 was probably the right thing to do but kovalev made it so either he was stopped or ward warned or DQd which wasn't likely to happen .

You make it sound like Kovalev had a choice.
All this talk of "what kovalev should have done" is redundant, i'd like to see some you guys on the receiving end of 3 hellacious uppercuts to the nuts from an elite fighter.
"I would just punch him in the nuts right back!" - no you wouldn't, you're a guy on the internet that would end up in a heap on the floor clutching your junk.
i think he would of been stopped if ward had gone to the head
He was going to the head too, prior to the 3 nut-shots, Ward threw a jab to the body that was blocked, and a left hook to the head, that Kovalev slipped. They then clinched, after it was broke Ward just wailed on his crotch.

I don't disagree that the final blows were low and many before I'm just saying the ref had to stop the fight and either give a count , DQ ward or stop kovalev and while I don't agree with it he he chose the later

I don't agree with the result. If the ref would have called the foul, Kovalev would have had 5 minutes to recover. Two judges scored it 67-66 for Ward. One judge scored it 68-65 for Kovalev. Ward was not sure if he was going to win, so he blatantly disregarded the rules and the referee let him get away with it.

Kovalev wasnt protecting himself. Ropes were holding him up. So, not throwing back and not defending himself is a fair reason for the stoppage.

That's the final punch/stoppage. Why are you telling lies that Kovalev wasn't defending himself? Did you want Ward to win so badly you would actively post untruths?

Ward just went full retard on Kovalev's balls, I kind of understand why though as he wasn't going to win a fair fight conclusively enough for his taste without fighting dirty in some manner.
I guess some of these 'boxing purist' fans of his love that though. Each to their own.

SOGgy got ripped off by the stoppage. Krushedner was saved by the ref from a career ending beatdown. His legions of b!tchartists, the YeahButtHeads of boxing, should be worshipping Weeks for his benevolent mercy.

Do you think Ward would have won anyway?

I do. Kovalev wasn't coming back. It's a pipe dream to think he was.

The question is was there a standing 8 in the rules of this bout? Standing 8s aren't in every fight just like the 3 knockdown rule.

The poll answers are too limiting. I think Ward would likely still have won, as Kovalev was gassing. However, I totally disagree with ref's decision to stop the fight after a barrage of low blows. An objective ref would deduct a point from Ward earlier in the round (before Ward's right hand) and would give Kova time to recover. After that, the fight could last 12 rounds or Kovalev could still land something significant hurting Ward.
As I said, I think that Ward would still win, as Kova was in a bad physical shape, but the ref deprived us from seeing a normal outcome.

You be protecting yourself and still get stopped if you're being hitand not throwing back. I guess SRL stopping Floyd SR wasn't fair neither. Cotto was protecting himself when he was stopped by Pacquiao. Simply protecting yourself doesn't guarrantee anything if you're stil getting hit.
