Anyone know why the main thread on Ward-Kovalev on this board has been locked? Makes absolutely no sense - we only had one main thread to discuss one of the biggest fights of the year on the B&I board, and it gets locked within a week of the result! Yet there are at least 3 separate threads on the Mayweather-McGregor fight on the first page, all left open??

AntonS decided he had read enough comments on the fight so censored all discussion relating to the fight entirely. He should be fired from moderating.

So apparently it's fine to have multiple open threads for Floyd vs McGregor, and it's also fine to have a thread on Nigel Farage run to 20 pages when it's mainly just Wes posting video links, but it's not fine to properly discuss a controversial ending of a boxing match between two elite fighters? Makes sense...

Indeed, it's bizarre, particularly having it closed in B&I where there is only 1 thread. There were a bunch of threads on it in CS, had he deleted new ones and left only 1 or 2 open then fine, but a complete and total shutdown is unwarranted and as far as Boxrec goes, almost unprecedented.

Can any mods shed light on this decision please? I just can't understand it.

Some explanation about what's done is done... This is a boxing forum. Discussing things over and over and over until we're all sick of it is kind of the point of it.

I'm the kind of person who looks at the up and coming fights on TV almost daily. I look forward to them. The anticipation of them is amazing. When the first bell rings I actually feel a massive adrenaline rush even now in my mid 40s for the big fights...and when it's the domestic scene too and I know how much it means to a certain fighter.

Sometimes the fights deliver amazing entertainment. Other times it's sort of a diehard fan thing where you just enjoy it. Sometimes, like all sports, there are unsatisfactory endings... That's when I need boxrec the most... To hear how others saw what happened.

Ward-Kov and the Rigo debacle were a double-whammy of bu11sh1t.

Closing down the threads seems sinister and agenda driven.

Maybe it is time to move on. I think perhaps my time here is over.
