Everyone knows Smith was extremely weight drained by fighting at lightheavy given he's a natural middleweight. Also Ward benefited from the home town referee who unfairly allowed him to land clean punches. With a neutral referee, neutral venue such as Mickey Vann in Liverpool, I favour Smith slightly.

Pity he won't have them functioning for long.

Given that Paul took Ward further than Kovalev who was rated number 2, Paul should replace Sergey in the number 2 position, which makes him mandatory contender.

I give Paul a good chance of beating Ward due to his work rate, fitness and granite chin.

Smigga no doubt. Paul's workrate, fitness, granite chin and body shots would be too much.

Anyway Smith is only interested in world title fights from now on so Kovalev is out of the equation

Due to the fact he won the 'Who can hit the bag hardest' competition on The Contender® Series 1 in 2007, I believe that Smith has the perfect credentials to beat Ward or Kovalev. He's proven at the top level, that bag didn't stand a chance. I've also heard rumours he can hit a score of 1,280 on the punching machine in Ibiza.
