Can you elaborate Nile, did Ramos KO him in sparring or something?Nile4000 wrote:Shame Marvin couldn't do what Alex Ramos did to Juan back in the day.
Flump, it was actually an amateur fight they had where Ramos floored him twice, and they stopped it. Makes me wonder how Alex did in his spars with Marvin.Flump wrote:Can you elaborate Nile, did Ramos KO him in sparring or something?Nile4000 wrote:Shame Marvin couldn't do what Alex Ramos did to Juan back in the day.
Thanks Nile, didn't know that. I know Ramos was a hell of an amateur who disappointed a bit as a pro.Nile4000 wrote:Flump, it was actually an amateur fight they had where Ramos floored him twice, and they stopped it. At 1:38 of this Video Larry Merchant says.., "Even Roldan's own manager says he's not that good of a boxer, leaves himself open, and Hagler can pick him apart." ... That goes a long way toward explaining why Roldan was such a low quality Middleweight -- and why chinny Tommy Hearns beat the crap out of him.Caractacus wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Odys1Bf0bwU
Yeah losing to Hearns really makes you low quality.Kalan wrote:At 1:38 of this Video Larry Merchant says.., "Even Roldan's own manager says he's not that good of a boxer, leaves himself open, and Hagler can pick him apart." ... Considering that Hagler and Barkley both knocked the sh!t out of Hearns -- and Barkley beat Hearns twice, knocking him down 3 times??? You're right, it does.
You doing your imitation of Tommy Hearns????Flump wrote:Kalan wrote:Flump.. "losing to Hearns really makes you low quality"

You will never reach the level of Hearns Kalan, and I'll tell you why. It's because you're a miserable athlete and no top trainer will work with you.Kalan wrote:You doing your imitation of Tommy Hearns????Flump wrote:Kalan wrote:Flump.. "losing to Hearns really makes you low quality"
