Haymons plans for Garcia vs Broner

Let's try to figure out Haymons plans for Garcia vs Broner. We all know what fighter Haymon prefers and if you think it's the Mexican you're a fool. Haymon loves Broner and has big BIG BIG plans for Broner because he has charisma and controversy. Garcia will fight Broner at a weight that is above his weight class. This sets up the excuse for a Garcia loss. "I did not feel quick enough and sharp enough at 140," Garcia can say. Garcia can afford a loss or a draw and then go back down to lightweight. The respect at the press conference yesterday by both sides reeeks of an inside job. Garcia treated Broner like he's Haymon's son, total respect. Broner even actually warned bettors that if they bet against him it will not turn out well. I think that's a tip off clue that Broner is either going to win or draw. The motive is there because Haymon wants Broner to be one of his key stars and Garcia can throw the fight and still be rewarded with several other fights by Haymon. It smells like Garcia vs Broner is going to be an inside job choreograph by AL Haymon.

Broner is never going to be a "key star". That possibility went away as soon as he fought maidana.

Something about this fight smells. I don't know why, but I don't think many people will predict the outcome.

Haymon placed the fight on the East Coast giving Broner some advantage. Garcia needs to dominate to get a win.

AL Haymon can do anything he wants in boxing and he seems very determined to use Broner as a star. Broner has the villain qualities and he has controversy and charisma sort of like Floyd he is the guy fans love to hate. This is a very rare and valuable quality for a boxer and Haymon knows it. This fight reeks of being an inside job to resurrect Broner and to give Garcia a payday.

At the end of the day Broner has two Ls to Maidana and Porter, and we ought to remind everyone of that everyday, so that these casuals don't start believing Broner is actually good.

I highly doubt Team Garcia would play along with this.

If Broner wins, which he could, it won't be because of a fix by Haymon. Broner is a 4 time world champ, and not by accident. His skills aren't as great as many thought, but still a decent fight for any 140lber. Remember Garcia is a 135lber fighting at 140 for the first time, and has not been very active. He wins on paper, but well all know fights are not fought on paper.
A few folks on this forum that claim they are done with boxing, are part of the problem many get tired of boxing, with all the whining, endless negative comments, and borderline racist remarks. Worse than trolls.

This will be his 2nd time fighting at 140. His first time was last year and he scored a KO over a guy Jhonny Gonzalez could not finish. I don't see him having any real issues with Broner.

Any difficulties had fighting at 140 will be had by broner.

"Al Haymon can manipulate anything. What Al Haymon wants Al Haymon gets." - Pauly Malignaggi Haymon believes Broner has the bigger upside as a revenue generator because he has the Floyd qualities of controversy and villainy. Garcia is a quiet humble Mexican who better serves as a pawn type fighter to plug holes and fill slots. Garcia does not have the potential to be a Canelo Chavez Oscar type crossover Mexican superstar. Unfortunately because he's a very good fighter.

I really don't think haymon has anywhere the power you think he does. Maybe when Floyd was active, but not anymore. His plans to make boxing an attraction on network tv failed miserably. Several years later, he has zero real stars. Why would anyone cater to him at this point?
Broner will never be a star. No one cares about him, no one will. He is not that good of a fighter. The bad guy schick worked for mayweather because he was one of the greatest fighters of all time. Broner is a a B+ level fighter, nothing more.

Seth mitchell was a lousy fighter and Haymon manipulated him all the way to a title shot vs Klitschko which of course was turned down because even Haymon knew the outcome would have been an easy early KO and he could not fix the fight in anyway. Haymon controls both Broner and Garcia so he's playing chess with himself. Whatever is best option for himself is what he will manipulate to happen. The best result is for Broner to win a close fight to resurrect his career and Garcia can just go back down to LW and be rewarded with two or three haymon controlled patsies. THis is how Haymon operates and it's quite surprising a lot of fans don't realize this or see this by now.

Yes. Garcia is far more superior than maidana is technically. Don't get me wrong, Marcos was probably my favorite fighter for a while there, but technically, he was extremely flawed. Garcia will be able to land more while getting hit less. I don't think that Garcia hits harder than Maidana. But, he will will be much more precise while landing more.
