Josh Kelly topping the bill against Tom Whitfield in a 6 rounder, Kelly from Sunderland and Whitfield is from Gateshead and the cards in Newcastle, so a little North East derby, I imagine its a bit much to ask for this fight to be competitive at this stage of Kelly's career but hopefully Whitfield brings it, ive never seen him before but he's 4-1 and coming off his first loss which by KO to a fella he'd already beat

Kelly's looked the bizz so far and the KO he got in his last fight was quality, he moves well for a guy who's as stocky as him, he doesn't look like a massive puncher but he does look strong and has a good shot selection

Routine win for Kelly no doubt but some good talent on the bill, Hall, Saunders and Fowler

A cracking selection of home fighter in display, irrespective of who they fight top skills are on show

If they are going to be on television could they not at least be fighting quality journeymen?

I agree with Horse. As a Sunderland lad I think it's quite an underwhelming card, and given the fact Valilly has fought Breidis, he should have been in a title fight by this point, against someone like Dickinson. Baister needs to step up. If it's true Stu Hall is facing someone who is that bad, that is shocking. Not interested in Saunders either, feels like Smith & Gavin in terms of their relevance.

Hearn's got an opportunity to build something in the North East, he should be looking at the region's prospects.

Most people would rather watch a fight than some kind of exhibition.

Usual Home fighter -v- some poor bloke who has been shipped in well out of his depth.

They shouldnt even be on TV if they are just being put in for televised sparring.

Bradley Saunders, for me, Is the most unfulfilled talent in Britain. He's back as well, because he wants to be, zero need for the cash. His hands are really bad, though.

It's not filling dates - it's outwith the normal Sky contract.

It's more live boxing on the TV - it's a bonus.

That's not what Next Gen is all about - they are extras over and above the normal Sky card.

Your not going to get many 50/50 match ups where both want £40k-£50k each - the tickets would barely cover that 1 fight.

Why would anyone want to watch this crap?

Most are fighting opponents that wouldn't even be considered good for the debut of any fighter.

Why is the quality so absurdly poor? How much money can they possibly be saving by finding some of the worst opponents that they could get?

It's all about the PPV game now. They have the numbers and the audience.

I expect at least 5+ PPV's before the end of the year, 3-4 on sky.

We had the non-PPV period, now we are getting more than ever.

When you look back, how many are actually worthy of the PPV? AJ-Wlad, and err.. AJ vs Molina for the full card.

We are being scammed and I'm sick of it. Look back at the dross we've been forced to pay for. Same for the US boxing events.

Hearn used to slag Friday fight night cards on IFL and even his first cards on the exclusive deal and he goes and puts this on.

Still no one is putting forward a worse card than this in the history of sky sports then..........

It's a bog standard small hall show. It just happens to be put on by a promoter, that happens to have a TV deal and can market.

Not really sure what the problem is, and I'm always up for sticking the knife in Eddie.

These sorts of shows happen every weekend, all round the country. If I was local I'd go to this.

Stockton's (or is he Segefield? Either way) is not a million miles away though is it?

Plenty lads bring busses full of people to these sorts of things.

I don't think that's to make people like you buy a PPV. It's for the ones who don't know any better. Hearn has said in the past that the PPV will help generate more quality 'regular' Sky cards, but all we've been fed is this dross.

I can't think of anything worse.

"Prizefighter 31: The Light Welterweights III" is the worst that I could think of, but I can't remember a thing about how entertaining the actual show was.
