Saunders v Lemieux

A possible fight on September 16th.

Hope it happens. No better way to celebrate Mexican Independence Day (as I do every year) than by watching a fight between an English Gypsy and a Middle Eastern Canadian with a French name.

:box:

:bag:

:geek:

If anything gets Billy to take training seriously it would be this fight.

Good fight. I'd like to see it. The boxer vs the pressure fighter/brawler who hits like a mule.

I always thought he was french Canadian based on the name? Lol. Although that doesn't stop him having middle eastern ancestry either though admittedly. He is quite olive skinned come to think of it.

Both his parents were Lebanese, I thunk.

But he never knew his biological dad. I could be wrong but that's how I remember it in the 24/7 type build up to his fight with GGG.

His mum remarried a French Canadian.

No - Lemieux 's dad was French, his mother Armenian Lebanese. Canadian born and bred.

So he's mixed.

That's it. I got it backwards. His mum remarried a Middle Eastern bloke.

He'd flatten Saunders in fairly quick time. Hope it gets made but if Saunders has been told he is in line for Golovkin or Alvarez no way will he risk it.

Where would this happen?

I know they're talking about doing it the night of Golovkin-Canelo as part of the PPV in the UK but no idea if that part of the card would be in the UK or US. It would make sense for the latter though i think.

I think Billy will out box him early doors and make Lemieux look a bit reckless. It will boil down to how Billy holds up to Lemieuxs power as he will start to land when Billy tires. I agree with your point that they won't risk this fight if they have one of the other two lined up

I think W@rren wants it in London as part of the whole Canelo GGG event. Winner gets the winner.

I'd have Lemieux as winner purely based on Saunders not living the life of a boxer. He'll be gassed after a few rounds.

X2. My money would be on a Lemieux early ko win. However he is basic, and could potentially get outboxed early on, but even then Saunders would fade around halfway as usual and Lemieux would take him out.

He is a bit crude and basic but after Golovkin and Alvarez he is right up there in the division, really dangerous opponent.

I'd like to see this one. Went to see BJS vs Lee but really gone off him since then, which is a shame as him beating Eubank Jr was a great fight. I think this could be a chance for BJS to either really shine, or get starched. Plus big fan of Lemeux. Hope it gets made. Think BJS may have to travel for it though.

I hope it happens but I doubt it. Lemieux would crash that overrated lazy bum very quickly.

I don't really have much interest in watching Saunders since his fight with Andy Lee, as a spectacle it's up there with some of the worst world title fights i've ever seen.

Lemiuex wasn't overly impressive in his last bout but I suspect he'd make easy work of Saunders.
