Everybody knows my huge dislike for boring or dirty boxers. Ward combines both along with a autism boring arrogant personality, i realy dislike the guy.
Wlad, floyd and andre where the boxers i desired the.most to be oit of boxing. All boring, all non action. Wlad seems to be out, so is floyd (i dont take the cmg fight serious), than there is andre who i hoped he would go away for good. Now i changed my mind. I hope he and his stupid team believe the crap they have been talking, him as the true p4p king

wouldnt it be easy to challenge bertebiev, usyk or joshua

please ward, keep on boxing u cheater and get beat up by these names u think u could handle but cant!

Well, I think you are in luck, because I doubt he's going anywhere for the next few years. And he will probably keep stinking his way to victory. Got to hand it to the guy. He gets away with it and is effective enough to keep winning. That in itself is impressive. I'll keep watching in hopes that he gets starched. But, I have a feeling he will be a thorn in most fans sides for a few years to come.

Did you think he was particularly dirty the other night?
I know the finishing shots were low but I don't believe they were intentional. He was ripping Kovalev to the body all fight. I was hugely Impressed with him the other night, I didn't think he could do that to Kovalev.
It's not like he was dirty like he was with his head against Kessler.

Nah, not really. I think the fouls have been quite exaggerated by the haters. His dirty tactics are very calculated and well timed. I think he would have beaten Kov without the low blows. However, his smothering, inside style ,while effective, is god awful to watch. He is a rough and tumble type of fighter. He has shown that he can fight clean and crisp at times. But, he has a plan B if the crisp style is not working. Which he goes to a lot at this level of fighting. But it keeps him winning. Not going get him any big numbers. But it will keep him winning which will ensure him decent paychecks.

I never saw it. The fight report was enough to put me off.

I agree. Though I was actually impressed with him, after the first fight I didn't think he could stop Kovalev but he realised it was his body work that hurt Kovalev and he was ripping him to the body with proper venom. I loved it, and I'm not usually a fan.
It's a confident fighter who can handle giving rounds away to make his game plan work and that's what he did. He was losing rounds but beating Kovalev up, it's just disappointing it ended like that.

I picked Ward to win the rematch. But, never thought he'd stop him. Didn't think he'd stop Chad Dawson either. The man is full of surprises, isn't he?

I thought he'd put point him just wider this time. Stopping him like that, and Kovalev wasn't liking it for a few rounds was impressive.

During my childhood, I had been watching Ali, Foreman and Frazier, and I had become a boxing fan. I suspect that any child will become boxing fan watching Andre Ward nowadays.

..a lot of us watched Ali and Co. and enjoyed it because our choices were limited, now that the sport has become global, boxing fans around the world have got a lot more opportunities and other role models to follow and thanks god for that...

Why do you say that and I hope you are being sarcastic. The work of the names you mentioned was clean and crisp in terms of boxing and punching ability. This grindy dirty looking fighting is not attractive and I hope not inspirational. I appreciate he appears to be a good role model and how intelligence can overcome brute force and the man vs the bully storyline played out but I don't buy into it/that and the way Ward portrays himself. Him and his team have been just as nasty as Kovalev and co albeit a little more subtle.

If I could choose, I would like to have "limited choices" with Ali and Co, than endless choices without Ali and Co.....

I have never been fond of Ward, but I had very strong respect for him. Now, I have no more respect, it is too much (clinching, holding, wrestling, low blows, elbows, head-butts, judges, refs, promoters, etc, etc)....I wish him to face Joshua, and kissing the canvas..........

TBH I'm not going to watch his fights any more and if I was a boxer I would never accept him as an opponent, if he can get away with this kind of cheating, a match against him obviously doesn't make sense. And it's match after match after match.

The vast majority of the posts submitted to this forum are unfairly highly-critical in nature and accuse fighters of "ducking", being "cowardly", having faced "bums", accusations of being "protected" etc.
Yet here we have a man that goes by the name of Andre Ward that has a proven track-record of having faced the very best fighters in his weight class... and even has the most "fearsome" puncher in the sport declining interest in facing him (GGG), yet no fûckêr will give the S.O.G. any credit!
Instead, Ward is aggressively lambasted by almost everyone that frequents this forum, because of both his fighting style and his demands about being paid his worth.
That just doesn't seem right to me!
Whilst I'm not a huge fan of Andre Ward, he's almost certainly earned my respect.

Yes, he faced the best opponents, and defeated all of them.
Yes, he deserved to be despised of fan's majority, because of his dirty tactics.
No, he is not the role model for young generations, and never will be.
My opionion has nothing to do with racism.

I agree with 3G. Boxing is not soccer. You are not likely to get away with acting like you have been shot when someone lands a love tap on your beltline.
SOGgy is the perfect boxing role model for today. A kid watching him fight will make no mistake about boxing being a romantic endeavor of heroism. SOGgy demonstrates what boxing in reality is; two men fighting with a ref interfering as little as possible and three people judging from different angles subjectively.
"The sweet science" is not pretty. It is two men trying to ktfo each other or win more of the 12 three minute battles than their opponent during the process of trying to knock his ass out.
SOGgy is the perfect lunch bucket ambassador for the reality of boxing, including the facts that he is a responsible, well spoken, law abiding family man outside of the ring.

People will always fight bums when they keep getting more credit for looking good bashing them around, than those like Ward who actually have tough fights against good opponents.

Don't worry Jip. In all likeihood, it's not. He'll keep boring us for a while to come.
The 2 Kovalev fights were more fun than his fights usually are though. Controversial though they were, they didn't bore me.
