Looks like theyve gone for an easy option first fight back fighting a cruiserweight it seems however Fury isnt huge anyway.

Decent enough card - opponent is 39 year old punch bag who on paper has winning record for TV.

Does he have a licence to fight ?

Tough fight for Hughie.

Opponent under 40, on a four fight win streak and only been stopped five times.

Why pay these shit foreign journeymen to get chinned. Hoenstly awful matchmaking for a fighter who already has zero credibility or interest. A durable British lad, or a commonwealth fighter would be good. I know they don't wanna pay the money considering this card is already stacked, but it's a fact Hughie will be taking a massive step up. This plodder compared to Parker. And funny thing is, Fury might beat both, but if he doesn't, questions should be asked as to why he didn't go the proper route of fighting for the British or European titles, against Whyte, Helenius etc.

Man looks like a tractor-pulling enthusiast. Fury in two, I suppose.

I think by the time he got a chance to fight for the british (vs White) he was all sick and lumpy?

The better question would be how did Warren get him a mandatory shot for fighting Fred Kassi while in that state.

Looks like that guy won't be his opponent now.

I hope he can fight Tyrone Spong on either of those dates.

His old man said that this bout was about just getting him out there after a long lay off. I doubt if they want too tough a fight with a world title shot just 10 weeks away. That is the state of the game today.

I'm just glad he's out to prove he's got a license.

I think the plan all along was to get the Parker fight back here.

It would be great if Fury beat Parker and defended his title with AJ's titles too. Im sure that fight would be a box office seller. But how long would it last?

I thought Povetkin was next in line to fight the winner of Parker/Fury.

Let's be honest, it goes one of two ways. Joshua simply destroys Hughie in the first 3/4 rounds.

Or Hughie has an ATG chin and somehow drags his arse to the latter stages but still loses comprehensively.

I think Hughie could definitely improve and could certainly be more than a handful for Paker. But that fight is still a pretty 50/50 event and in my opinion Joshua is rightly around the 1/20 mark to beat Parker. I think Warren would surely have more sense than chucking him in at that level now. Parker (or Hughie if he won) are so far behind the other world champions that I think it's slightly disingenuous to compare them.
