All these media tours are gonna tiring these 2 fighters. I know they need to do it to generate more views and publicity , especially when they have a serious competition in FMG-CMG fight-show but c'mon Canelo and G are looking sick and tired when reporters are asking them same monotonic questions.

I'm getting sick and tired of them too. I cannot recall this much promotion back in the '80s. The boxers have to do so much talking before the fight. I don't think even Muhammad Ali did more talking before a fight than they do today.

In the 80's you didn't know who was fighting half the time until you got the tv guide. Great fights sometimes with zero promotion outside of where the fight was.

I wonder how much these world tours affect PPV buys. It doesn't seem to work for Canelo and GGG though. Neither guy speaks English well and there's no contention between the two at all!!! Oscar knew how to sell a fight back in the day so why he's not creating some tension between the two fighters is beyond me. Sure, it's cool...they are professionals...and mature...blah blah...but hate sells. I think this lovefest between the two is going to hurt PPV buys. That doesn't sell.

Some people would say :'It's selling a fight' but to me it looks quite annoying to see 2 fighters spending a lot of their precious time on travelling and go to different TV shows being asked same and same bs.

I imagine it's pretty stressful and tiring this maraton of training, media, promotion, etc.

I would probably be fed up with it too, if I had paid attention to any of it.

It has to be done. Its a mega fight. They have enough time.

Canelo and Golovkin are both experienced professionals that have headlined multiple PPV events, so they'll surely appreciate that part of their job, which significantly infliences the size of their paydays, is to promote their own fights.

Both men will be paid handsomely for their efforts, so there's no point in feeling sorry for them or worrying about any potential adverse consequences resulting from them having to promote their own fights.

Well we saw what lack of promotion did for Ward - Kovalev 2.

Its interesting that even in the cyber age we see the most fiercely contested fight of recent times being fought by huge number of personal appearances. In the end it difficult to tell how much Clinton or Trump actually benefitted, but they felt they had no choice but to endure the gruelling ordeal.

Boxers do sometimes say that the actual fight is the easiest bit. Its the training and all that behind the scenes stuff. The truth is that self promotion does sell fights if you are Ali, Tyson, Hamed, Mayweather or McGregor.

Apparently not so much if you are Tyson Fury or BJS. But even here these guys waste no time trying to intimidate their opponent in whatever way they can.

Anthony Joshua, Carl Froch, and Ricky Hatton usually had no trouble selling fights. Or Canelo for that matter.

Guess it's just Oscar trying to play puppet master as usual.

Wonder how much these promotional tours cost the promoters...

That's true. The news would be after the fight, not before, except for the big fights. An article in KO Magazine for major fights a month or two before. What's happening now is ridiculous. So many videos, so much that is not really news.
