If this fight is made in Vegas who's up for a piss up weekend?

I have plenty of mates there. I could rent a house, toss mattresses everywhere and we soak up the atmosphere.

Should be 20+ thousands British in town.

Eddie Hearn was estimating on IFL TV that Joshua’s following over there would be similar to Hatton’s.

Am I the only one who has doubts?

Hatton’s laddish “man of the people” routine particularly drew travelling fans from liked minded lads/pissheads from pubs across town and England as a whole- it was more like an overseas football away trip, where nobody's that arsed about the game but just fancy a weekend bender, drink the strip dry, abuse the locals, shag a few brasses and chant until their voices go.

Joshua’s fan base seems a bit different which I’m not convinced would travel.

I'll be very very very surprised if 20,000 people went to Vegas to watch this.

I always have doubts about how many people are actually going to Vegas specifically for these fights and how many just happen to take advantage of the fact that they're going to Vegas and there's a fight on. Not saying Hatton wasn't a popular bloke or that people didn't travel to see him, but you could take any weekend of the year and Vegas is going to have a lot of Brits abroad.

I think if Joshua were to fight in America there would be a decent amount watching him. He can't be filling Wembley with no fans. All the younger lads in the office where I work seem to be of the idea that a Joshua fight in Vegas is probably the dream holiday.

I'd also be surprised if Joshua's fans travelled specifically for a fight abroad in any great number. But who knows.

Its only a matter of time before Joshua fights in the States. The big advantage for us though, is that he can fill Wembley meaning an enormous gate. I don't think we get Hatton level's of fans going over but he would bring support over.

Joshua fans would definitely travel. Even if the fans are a bit different he's more popular than hatton.

Seems to be zero reason not to have it at Wembley again.

The lack of a roof is the issue with Wembley, assuming they are still thinking of October ish.

Availability issues too, Spurs are playing their home games this season there.

me too, he seems to attract a different kind of fan to hatton, my cuz and his mates are all young, trendy, health conscious gym rats and have been to most of joshuas fights even tho none of them are boxing fans and know very little about the sport, its the event as a whole they seem to get a buzz out of.

Yeah he has a missive fan base, not just hardcore fans, plus Vegas is a destination that is great for groups of young fellas.

I could be wrong, I often am, but I can’t see Joshua taking an army of fans abroad despite his popularity and celebrity status, his fan base just doesn’t seem as fanatical/loyal (for want of better words).
Granted, he sells out our big arenas in seconds (with the help of Stubhub) but would this crowd (largely made up by women, posers, and wannabe rappers) actually fornicate off abroad to be there? Even the hordes of Hatton fans that knew they wouldn’t get a ticket still went for the jolly up and conquer the town with our unique "Brit's abroad" type brash arrogance, in a similar way to football fans on an away trip.. They revelled in it, would this opportunity appeal the same to Joshua’s following?

I wouldn’t even be overly surprised if Frampton or even Josh Warrington took a bigger crowd for a piss up on the Strip.

Shows the financial clout a casino has when it can generate more money for two European fighters to fight in a small area at 4am GMT when both have spent their whole careers fighting in Europe and fought in front of 80,000+ last time out breaking PPV records in U.K. And having 10m viewers watching in Germany.

personally I think Vegas is gash on fight night.... far too many hookers who want far too much cash, literally 2 in 3 females are brass

Wlad has said in the past that he would like to have his last hurrah in Ukraine.
So if that is still his plan, it won't matter to him whether he fights Joshua in Cardiff, Dubai, New York or Las Vegas.
Win. lose or draw the Joshua rematch he will probably have a farewell fight in Kiev.

I suspect that the bulk of Joshua's fans can scrape enough disposable income together for a night out at Wembley but a weekend in Vegas is likely beyond them.

There's something going on here. I'm sure Eddie said in an interview shortly after the fight that the rematch clause had a window of a few weeks to be activated in.

Vegas Probably hinges on whether AJ now allowed into the US. Can't believe his management team didn't try to get him on a US card during his rise, or that Vegas wasn't originally a very lucrative option for Wlad AJ 1, but all of a sudden is for the rematch.
