Anyone envisage any shocks in this first round?

I have bet on Brant at 7/4 to beat Braehmar. Surely he will struggle to make the weight.

Anyone else envisage Eubank Jnr not taking part?

The Eubanks are well known for being notoriously hard to deal with, I just don't see them being involved.

There is the potential for him being a problem

but I think they see this as a good opportunity and something that will boost his profile.

It also falls into the category of "going his own way" and not relying on a Hearn or Warren promotion and their respective TV platforms (do we know what channel these will be on?)

At some point they surely want to make some money? After turning down millions to fight GGG would they now give up on this cash cow?

September/October for the 8 QFs, January/February for the SFs and May finals. All supposedly on different dates too :salut:

Thanks for that mate. Put a tenner in Kudryashov to win CW....16-1.

I much prefer this knockout style tourney than the old super 6 which just tied up the fighter's for too long.

I'll be having a Kudryashov Brant double in the quarters at 13/2 :TU: can't wait for the cruiser tournament!!

I've voted Brant just because I learnt from the Super Six not to underestimate the undefeated American fighter

Could be using the publicity the tournament is getting right now to push the PPV sales?

This ITV PPV has to bomb IMO.

It's an undercard fight that needs as much help to sell as possible.

Smith is a clear favorite in my opinion.

Furthermore I think Smith and Eubank are the only sure picks for the semi finals.

I think Cox is good enough fighter to cause an upset. And Brand is a real dark horse, have not seen him fight.

I think Groves, but maybe that's because I like him.

Smith would be the second for me.

Would ITV buy this tournament ? You need to buy all 14 fights - looks like Sky won't be bidding so it's down to ITV and BN/BT you'd imagine.

What is the info? Sky fighters are involved so I thought they go for it.

You have to buy all 14 fights - Hearn said Sky didn't think they had the nights/slots to buy entire event as 1 lot so didn't think they would be showing.

Looking forward to the British fighters crossing paths.

Yes Callum Smith looks the fave but in these tourneys the fave doesn't always win.

Someone gets a loss or feels they've been wronged somehow and they'll be wrangling to get out, though. Thinking Eubank would be difficult if something went wrong.

Don't forget the smith bros have tournament experience. Paul was absolutely immense in the contender winning an SD before coming off the show due to a cut. That experience could be vital

I hope groves wins. He's the proven boxer

Smith looks a beast at 168 though

Eubank looks good vs inferior opposition too

Cox is quite rated and another unknown quantity

Can't wait for these fights. Would like to see smith vs eubank tbh

Eddie was asked earlier on Twitter if it'll be on SKY. His first reply:

"Not that likely mate"

When asked again:

"No you have to buy the 14 fight nights - difficult for a channel with an output deal"

Hope it doesn't go on to obscure PPV channels like Carl Froch was on in the Super Six

Vincent Feigenburtz is the Reserve Fighter for the SMW event.

Smith, Groves, Cox, Braehmer and some times Eubank fight on Sky as it is. That is an entire SMW tournament. They only need to add 7 very high level shows. Or they could split it between weights. SMW airs on Sky and CW on BN. I dont see why this is not possible. Surely Schaefer wants to sell the event.

Way he is talking about fighting Groves and then DeGale makes me think that he aims to beat Groves in the semies and then quit the tourney if he is against Callum Smith. Not that Eubanks have a conscience or care what anyone thinks.
