On July 12, 2003 at Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, WBA welterweight champion Ricardo Mayorga, aka El Matador, from Managua, Nicaragua, fought WBC welterweight champion Vernon “The Viper” Forrest, from Augusta, Georgia, for a second time. Their first fight was six months earlier and was a TKO3 for El Matador. Going into the rematch..
Mayorga was 24-3-1, Forrest was 35-1, and the fight was scheduled for 12 rounds.

That fight is irrelevant! ... Forrest was suffering from left shoulder problems that kept him out of Boxing for the next 24 months and change... He had to do something about his left shoulder and elbow... But often intricate surgeries on joints don't work as well as you hoped they would.. Much like Bo Jackson He continued to have problems after several surgeries.. Vernon never recaptured the the same jab and hook after Mosley 1.. The left was gone.
Bo Jackson's hip problem started as an ordinary hip pointer.. They did several procedures and finally went drastic with a hip replacement.. It didn't work.
