I've not been excited for a presser like this before.

I don't give a crap about buildups... Pete Rademacher fought Floyd Patterson for the World Heavyweight Championship in his first professional fight. On paper it was a ridiculous mismatch. The fight is on YouTube if you want to check it.

Everybody said Patterson would destroy Rademacher very quickly. Few people were interested and the fight lost money. But Rademacher dominated the first 2 rounds and scored a terrific knockdown with a straight right. It was 6 rounds of utter brutality as Rademacher wouldn't quit or stay down.. Patterson damned near exhausted himself hammering Rademacher flat into the canvas with 6 knockdowns. Patterson said, "He almost won in the 2nd round. He caught me real good. It was a much harder fight than I expected."

So I think there's a prayer for McGregor – because Patterson was a tremendous puncher and Rademacher wasn't.. Conor is a tremendous puncher and Floyd ISN'T!! Floyd hasn’t knocked anyone out in years... And Patterson was at the peak of his prime and very active - and Mayweather ISN'T those things.

But the negative thing is, you had to be at least a fair boxer to win an Olympic Gold Medal even in 1956.. You don't have to be a fair boxer to be a World Champion MMA fighter though Conor is getting there. Rademacher boxed extremely well for 2 rounds and scared the crap out of Cus D'Amato (Patterson’s trainer). "He was better than I thought. But we knew everything he could do after 2 rounds.”

McGregor has to amaze anyone with his boxing skills.. Rademacher had basic skills but no repertoire.. He ran out of ideas and couldn't switch it up while Patterson had a deep bag of tricks to call on.. He started overwhelming Rademacher.. McGregor needs to switch it up and give Floyd different looks.. Lots of feints, no feints, feints again.. Lead with jabs, hooks, or straight lefts.. Stick the body.. Don't play to the crowd.. Don't talk to Floyd.. Rather than play be 5000% glued into the fight and that means only Conor and Floyd exist in the universe.. so when you get that opportunity to get Floyd out your instincts take over and you execute everything you’ve been working on for months.

What is so great about McG's talk? From what I've seen, it's mainly loud 'I make the most money' stuff, which is more notable for its vehemence than its cleverness or humor. Admittedly I haven't seen much....

Fury is good though, it's his top skill.

Fury is a dipwad, a mental case, and a lazy lout... Plus he makes a lot of comments that hurt his standing with the public.

McGregor is over his head -- but expectations being what they are he really can't lose with this fight.. If he's successful he'll be King of the World. I hear comments like, "The only time Conor will hit Floyd is when they touch gloves after the prefight instructions."

He's funny sometimes. In his last post-fight interview he said something like "i'd just like to rake a moment to apologise to... absolutely fuckin nobody" - that was pretty funny. Most of the time he just acts like a pratt though - Hatton was much funnier imo.

McGregor might just lose on all fronts here. I know a lot of people think it's scripted. And it most likely is to an extent. Connor's question and answer that Floyd's Dad crashed was much better. He's always going to be better in a back and forth because he's off the fly. Floyd was rehearsed and he knew he'd get squashed if he had to think. They also couldn't let it all out in the first one.

Pretty entertaining, from Floyd's side. McGregor setting the stage with a laundry list of excuses for losing, "Boxing is such a limited fight, its not a real fight, its 1/4 a fight." "I'm crossing over, no ones done it to the level I have" translation, I'm taking a money fight but you should all respect me even if I lose for fighting a 40 year old who i have been saying I could beat for years. What else did he say, something about the gloves and the concessions he's made, pretty much more excuses. He should really win then McGreggor, as he fighting such a limited sport, he's above it, but we'll see, if hes in trouble he can't puss out and grapple then tap out like the limited strikers of the ufc seem to do time and time again and why the majority of ufc fights basically stink unless you're into two men grappling each other on the floor.
