Hearn has Whyte on standby for Parker..

Just like Hughie said, Hearn being a cockroach.. He doesn't believe Fury will make the date and already doubting it. He is looking past the fight and already discussing Joshua vs. Parker with Duco..

Apparently, Whyte is now on standby incase Hughie doesn't make it and Duco need to find a replacement.

Hearn is trying to set up a unification between Joshua and Whyte, so he's doing everything he can, talking to the right people to make that happen.

I think any criticism in regards to this situation should solely be reserved for Hughie and his team. He's not exactly been very good value to his fans, whereas Hearn has consistently delivered (not always) good events.

I think Hughie just needs to concentrate on getting himself in the ring, and back to winning ways. He should be too insulted at well deserved criticism - just shows a general lack of self awareness.

Why the hell is Hearn getting called a cockroach?

Stupid!

Hughie is a clown and deserves to be treated like this.

I totally understand their stance. The Fury's are a joke in world boxing and I'm sure many promoters are very wary of them. The chances are high of a pullout whenever the Fury's fight so why not have someone on standby?

I don't see why anyone involved in the promotion of heavyweight boxing wouldn't look at the Fury's as total liabilities and make plans around them. The old lines about fighting men willing to fight anyone anywhere look laughable when held up against Tyson's twisted ankle, Hughie's bad back, Tyson's 'mental illness' or the inability to fight when his uncle went to hospital, plus the myriad dates which come and go without any fighting.

The biggest obstacle to major fights being made in that division involving either of them is their massive sense of self-worth in the face of overwhelming evidence that neither can do decent business, and the fact that either may just pull out at any moment.

Plenty of people hate Hearn but he's brought Golovkin and Klitschko over there in the last year and boxing is booming with a large part of that down to him. What have the Fury's done? They've not even fought.

Not a cockroach, just a good businessman. Having his guy ready and waiting for a world title shot should a fighter who has previous form drop out. Sounds quite a sensible thing to do...
To be honest I'd rather see Whyte take on Parker.

How can they say Hearn is a cockroach for doing this?

The fight has been set between Parker and Fury - if it becomes Parker v Whyte instead, that is completely down to team Fury. It's just great work, and that is why Hearn is one of the best promoters in the game.

I do think blame on this one goes more towards Fury than Hearn.

Hearn's job is to create opportunities for his fighter, he sees there is a fair chance they may pull out and he could get his guy a big pay day and a title shot, he's doing his job IMO.

Hearn says such things in an attempt to destroy the reputation of others as soon as they do tricks, like the Furies said Joshua would lose against Charles Martin and name them. If they turn out to be wrong, nobody will remember it, if they turn out to be right, everybody will be amazed by it.

It's just like boxers saying they want to retire, it's basically a scream for attention and get a good position when dealing.

There are boxers who aren't even 30 years old saying they are planning to retire, it's a joke lol.

On top of all this, a cockroach is a remarkeble creature, the body can continue to live for weeks after it's head is cut of and even the cut of head can continue to move it's antennae for hours. You can temporarely crush them with a weight of 900 times their own bodyweight and it can even survive a nuclear war!

Honestly I wish they had decent opponents more often on standby for big fights. They should probably give them an easyish fight on the undercard to keep them ticking over assuming all goes well.

Some decent opponents don't wanna be on standby, if say it's a week notice. They'd want to train properly and earn a good amount of money. Nod doubt Hearn pays Whyte around mil if the fight does happen

He is but not in this case. As others have said, if Hughie shows up then nothing changes. If he doesn't then Eddie has his man fit and waiting. Win/win for the fans and for Parker

Very smart, hard to call a promoter a cockroach for ensuring that a card won't get cancelled by Furyness.

Defo, makes it very difficult for them to pull out now

They may want to though, looking at ticket sales

So Parker comes over to the UK and Fury pulls out again, leaving the UK with no purse. Whilst Eddie has three fighters (AJ, Whyte & Bellew) who are in the mix to fight Parker and one of them is not available. Eddie is dead right to make sure Whyte is in shape because sometimes the best opportunities are late opportunities.

He's fighting in the states at the end of August, so he will already presumably be in shape.
