In the WBC Midyear Clean Boxing Program Testing Report, they show a lot of boxers with negative test results for 2017. Alexander Povetkin is on the list which is a good thing. Other big names are on the list too such as Gennady Golovkin. Four boxers had adverse findings, one of them being Polish heavyweight Andrzej Wawrzyk. They found stanozolol. However, there were five missed tests, two of them being Joseph Parker and Bermane Stiverne. The report states: "Each missed test and adverse finding has been or is in the process of results management protocol."

I get emails from the WBC and this report had all the names on the three lists (negative results, missed tests, adverse findings), but Fight News did a paragraph article about it.

I wonder if Hughie Fury will have a problem with Parker missing his test.

In other sports, such as athletics and football, a missed drug test usually leads to an immediate suspension (without there being any need to investigate the matter), this can only be appealed if extenuating circumstances were the cause of the rules not being adhered to (it used to work that way anyway).

The same principle should be applied to WBC’s clean boxing program, because if it isn’t, then it becomes redundant.

I doubt this affects Joseph Parker, since he’s the WBO champion, so being stripped of all recognition by the WBC probably won’t harm his career in any way. It just scuppers the possibility of a title unification bout against Deontay Wilder.

In regards to Bermane Stiverne, since he’s already tested positive for banned substances, then missing a drug test should result in an immediate suspension (unless he can prove that this was due to extenuating circumstances).

If Bermane Stiverne is suspended, then Deontay Wilder surely won’t be allowed to engage in yet another voluntary title defence? He’s held his title for 2½ years and he has never faced a mandatory challenger.

According to the WBC’s current rankings (assuming Klitschko engages in a rematch against Anthony Joshua), then Luis Ortiz should become Deontay Wilder’s next mandatory challenger… unless the WBC procrastinates by organising a title eliminator between Ortiz and Pulev, whilst allowing ‘The Bronze Bomber’ to engage in an interim voluntary title defence.

It depends on the circumstances, but generally I think a missed test should be considered the same as a failed one, and followed up by an immediate test and at least 6 month suspension. I look at it kind of the same as a refusal of taking the test. Generally it means there is a reason they missed.

I understood he was expected to be in Las Vegas, while he was somewere in Samio, about 20000kms away. He forgot to tell Wada he was there one week longer after his last fight. Well, sorry but in Parker his life I can understand. He's making more miles as dollars this year.
