I don't expect it to be a big name, as he will want a big fight near the end of the year. It will most likely be an 8 or 10 rounder with potentially the WBA International title on the line.
The shortlist it could be:
- Trevor Bryan / 18-0-0 Last fought at the end of April, so not to long ago but have enough time. Not really faced any big names, Whyte would be his biggest opponent. A win against Whyte will definitely put the undefeated American's name in the growing heavyweight scene.
BJ Flores / 34-3-1 A known name in the UK with his fight against Bellew last year and his known friendship with David Haye, so it would draw an audience from the UK. BJ's last two fights have been at heavyweight, so capturing a win against Whyte and potentially the WBA international strap will help him in his search for heavyweight glory.
Kyotaro Fujimoto / 17-1-0 Ranked number 14 in the WBA rankings, a win against Whyte would surely make him go higher in the rankings. Whilst also holding the WBO Asia Pacific title and only 1 place below Whyte in the WBO rankings - the winner could land a shot against the winner of Parker v Fury.

He won't be facing anyone that good.

He won't even be facing a Flores or Fujimoto level of opponent?
His next opponent definitely won't be enhancing his status in the sport any then that's for damn sure.

Not even close, more like a Gavern. He's like 6 deep on an untelevised undercard in Nebraska.

Gavern? The same back then out of shape guy Wilder fought at his 32 fight on on week notice?
Lol, Whyte fights way better competition for years now.

I'm a Londoner who grew up near where Whyte lives & I have Jamaican friends & family but I doubt that he'll reach they top level.
He could beat Wilder but that's not top level. I'd have their fight 50/50.
Winner is one of a few who could challenge Joshua or Klitschko

I like Whyte, he comes to fight. He just won't be facing anyone of note in August.

He also shouldn't pin his hopes on replacing Huey, he's gonna show this time.
Wilder will be fighting lawyers for the next 6 months.
Personally I'd like him to face Prince Charles because style wise, it would be entertaining

LOL, it wasn't an insult. He's deep on an American undercard.

BJ Flores??? BJ is a walkover opponent for Whyte... That's a David Allen opponent... To show you the level Luis Ortiz has to stoop to get an opponent.
How about Luis Ortiz for Whyte??? ... Yeah, that's another one that won't be happening.

That's another Wilder-Washington fight... Martin hangs in there for 3 or 4 rounds while possibly winning them and getting some minor punches home because he's a fair athlete with no boxing skills or defense... He'll be trying to harass Wilder who'll wait patiently... Then one punch ends it -- or at least hurts Martin enough so a wild flurry of follow up shots brings it to a close with Wilder hopping and jumping all over the ring like a loon.

I could imagine him looking to make a match against Razvan Cojanu or Cassius Chaney, based on his presence for orthodox opponents of Wilder / Joshua size. Probably not Marselles Brown.

The whole card is booked except for Whyte. Maybe he's not going to fight next month. Jennings is fighting the artist known as Daniel Martz, so if Dillian is on the card I'd expect someone similar.
