I'm not holding high hopes for opponent quality. With so much money going to the main event, then the Mayweather guys will get an ok cut, I don't imagine a lot being left over for undercard opponents.

Didn't they put up "the most expensive undercard" for a Mayweather PPV where they had Broner and Khan both fighting on the undercard. They didn't even fight anyone important IIRC.

Floyd's not dumb. It's probably in his contract that each of the undercard fights are TMT fighters so I know that Jack and Davis will be fighting. Hopefully, he puts them in competitive and entertaining fights and not showcase fights. Davis is one of he most exciting young fighters I've seen come along in a long time. He's an absolute animal with tons of talent.

Why do you call Tank a fraud? Because he hasn't fought Loma yet? He is still very young even though he holds some kind of title. Pro boxing has way too many titles.

Floyd matches his fighters better than most. While I understand the angst he's built up over the years he deserves some credit as a promoter. I'd expect solid fights. The UFC's involvement with the promotion can help there. Pretty amazing there is going to be free prelims on Fox going into a CBS PPV. That shows how massive this thing is.

Great point. Lots of wannabe fans tuned in for the Floyd-Conor circus, so a stay-busy fight against some scrub will be sufficient for good exposure!!

Then again, the way Davis made Liam Walsh LOOK like a scrub shows that even a quality fighter could be an easy win for Gervonta...

Dude, only the Brits were hyping him, but I saw nothing that showed me that he was a world-level fighter. Beating Klimov isn't much of an accomplishment anymore. Klimov's only world-level win, John Molina Jr., was controversial.

While I wouldnt go so far as to call Walsh a world-class fighter he was definitely NOT a scrub, even though Gervonta dominated Walsh as if he WAS a scrub.

It's definitely going to be a landmark event no matter what happens in the main event that's for sure. I'm not a huge fan of Floyd the promoter though. He's doing some nice things with Jack and Davis but I'd prefer he not overshadow the boxer on fight night like he has to Davis. Broner actually discovered Davis but Floyd gets all the credit. But I'd prefer he sit in the chair and watch like Oscar and Bob. Do you remember the night Jack got KO'd? That was supposed to be huge showcase night for TMT fighters and they started losing left and right. I think Love fought the main event and got knocked down but won. They kept showing Floyd closeups and he was losing his mind. I laughed a lot watching that.

In no world is Gervonta Davis a fraud. He is only 22 and already has risen to #7 on boxrec. That makes him one of the best prospects in the world.

Your example backs up my point. Floyd in the spotlight draws attention to his fighters. Bob arum never shied away from a microphone. Davis doesn't like to talk. As for broner's discovery. So what? He's not a promoter.

I've seen Gervonta's style of boxing before, it's a mix and the interesting question is which way will he go.
He's sharp but sometimes square in his positioning and has an elusive instinct about him.

LOL He didn't answer my question why he thinks Tank is a fraud. As far as calling him a jerkoff...I've known Tank since he was 12. He has always been respectful to me and my boxers when we go to his gym to spar. Now when he is around Mayweather he has to put the hood act on as that's the way they act but he is a good guy if you know him.
