Chavez tweeting about fighting Martin Murray in October in Texas.

For some reason I have pretty much no interest in Murray's fights, even though he's been in some really competitive ones at a high level. There's just something about him that is so blah to me....

Murray just boring to watch. Never has that extra gear to go to - a good upright boxer at a level but just a frusrating guy at world level. Had so many chances against guys who were a bit faded at the right times in their careers but still couldn't get himself over that line. Now past his best can't see him pulling off any 'big' wins nowadays.

With Murray saying he will move back to middle will be interesting to see how quickly he sells his soul for this one

The only fight I am interested in seeing Martin Murray in is against Andy Lee.

Because in the gloves are off with Barker and Macklin no fight between any of them happened when they would have been good fights in their peak. With Macklin and Barker retired that is the only one that can happen.

Murray has been a good servant to boxing. Sure he isn't the best but he is tough as nails and fought everyone.

I did think he lost to Rosado though and he didn't come across well in his post fight interview.

I would be all of this fight if I felt Murray would KO Jr but I don't think it would be a good fight.

I've really enjoyed Murray's career, he's a fighter I've always been able to get right behind. Was disappointed at the performance vs Groves but that aside, he's seldom let us down over the years

Felt bad for Rosado he was competitive but had no chance with that outrageous scorecard.

Murray is nearing the end of his career same could probably be said for Chavez even for his age he's found his level a long time ago.

Same here,abraham and groves put me right off him. I used to think he was decent but after watching a few tune up fights that very nearly put me to sleep i gave him a chance and watched the two fights iv just mentioned and that was it for me,against sturm and martinez he done great but that was a long long time ago now

Didn't think Murray could get a US visa

It'd be the best win in a while for either of them. I'd favor Martin in the fight. Mainly because he takes himself and his career more seriously and would be in better shape. I think he'd outbox Chavez Jr.

Chavez Jr. doesn't seem to even have a decent effort left in him anymore.

As good a payday as he'll now get so good luck to him. Cashout fight.

He should be embarrassed with the Abraham performance after what Gilberto Ramirez did.

Poor Murray getting a lot of stick on this thread. I've always liked him, all the lads at my old amateur club spoke highly about him too.
I do accept that some of his recent outings have lacked a bit of fireworks but I don't begrudge him the opportunity of a good payday if this comes off. He'll give it his best shot. He doesn't know any other way.

Martin just doesn't do enough to convince in world class company, but he's still a solid contender in the lower half of the top ten.

Have to concur that Murray is a dull fighter to watch.
