Question to boxing fans... Why did Al Haymon not match Stevenson vs Beterbiev in a Lt Hwt superfight? Was he protecting his one preferred fraud star from a bona fide Russian beast? Or was it just a coincidence that Haymon never got the idea to match Stevenson vs Beterbiev?

Beterbiev is not "a bonafide" anything at the pro level yet.

It's everyone's fault but legendbiev.

Beterbiev is the most over rated no fighting boxer in the last 20 years.
He has so much potential but has done nothing and appears to like it

I think Stevenson beats Beterbiev. Beterbiev would walk into Stevenson's left all night.

Beterbiev would smash Chickenson unconscious all day, EVERY day...

Al Haymon has been protecting the knocked out Chickenson forever and ever.. Look at his weak fkking challengers!!! What World Champion gets away with fighting dogs like Fonfara twice??? ... Or gets to defend against weak fkking dicks like Sukhotskiy, Karpency, and Bika??? GTFO of here!!!!!

Your obsession with Haymon is beyond strange. About 95% of your posts mention Al Haymon. You really are his best fan.

Al Haymon is also protecting Wilder... But he hasn't been pulling in fabulous revenues because he hasn't fought anybody.

Haymon thinks it's about time to throw Wilder to the lions and make the big score... And he'll let Chickenson fight Ward -- probably... The man will be 40 for his next fight -- so how much longer can you wait to cash in on the chickenhearted A-hole.

Yup, Al Haymon is to blame for pretty much any good match up that doesn't happen.

You have no idea what you're talking about... Beterbiev beat Kovalev twice, fought and easily beat Light Heavyweight Champions, and has never even taken a semi-hard punch his defense is so excellent... He would be a lot better if he wasn't kicked downstairs by Haymon and others who control Boxing.

I've explained this situation so many times to you guys... I guess this means that these threads are less about discussing facts, but more about bitching and moaning.

Boxing is a business... And basically a North American business... As such, Eastern Europeans are being shut out of big fights. However the UK is coming on strong -- and Eastern Europe can't be held down forever by sinister people like Al Haymon -- Don King -- Bob Arum -- Oscar De La Hoya etc.

The amateurs are different.

If Beterbiev takes a flush left hand from Stevenson, he's going down.

Chickenson is an old man who can't get out of his own way... He's already been knocked out by a 3rd rater in Darnell Boone..

If Beterbiev got hold of Chickenson he'd smash him into the next world.

Chickenson is a way better draw than Beterbiev. Why would Haymon sacrifice him while he can still fight?

Why did Haymon not make dozens of potential great matchups available to him? I'll tell you why. Because he's a sh*tty promoter.

He tries to make his money in the Boxing game through shady backdoor deals and loopholes instead of actually putting out a worthwhile product most of the time.

True... Hayman has no interest at all in Boxing... Like Don King his only interest is himself... Therefore he pays off the WBC and gets his "champions" the weakest opposition he can possibly get away with... And the only reason he signs Eastern European boxers is to deny them opportunities.

I didn't think Haymon was a promoter? Or is he both?

I think he is responsible for putting together some pretty good fights over the last year or two, as compared to the other big promoters....but yeah, he sure could do more.

Al Haymon isn't a promoter... He calls himself an "adviser" and takes 10% or so from about 150 boxers so he is getting rich.

But many of his boxers languish because he has his favorites and his unfavorites. Gary Russell is the best Featherweight, but he's getting crap fights. Beterbiev is getting nothing. Haymon has people working for him that make phone calls and help him put together matches. He's come up with all of Wilder's opponents, but for a Heavyweight Champion with 6 Heavyweight Championship fights, Wilder hasn't made a lot of money.

Wilder has yet to face a top Heavyweight. Now that Haymon has both Oritz and Wilder maybe that fight will be made because Ortiz is 38. It's fight that would be high profile and keep the title under the Haymon banner. It's the kind of fight Haymon puts together. However Russell, Santa Cruz, Frampton, and Selby all use Haymon I believe.. You would think Russell would get a chance to knock those guys out, but he's not getting a thing.. A lot of boxers think Haymon is the magic pill they need -- but it just ties them up contractually and doesn't work out for them. When you have so many boxers how the Hell can you pay attention to all of them? It's an impossible situation for Beterbiev.

Thats not the reason. Haymon is all about to oney. Chickinson is a NAME in canada ans brings money as long he is champion. Bert is not so much known therefore brings less cash. But if we talk boxing. Bert wrecks him.

Already our learnered posters have given many good and some rather bizzare reasons why not.
I think the most simple reason is probably closest to the truth.
Money.
There is no money in it.
We know who Betatape is, the general public don't.
