Leeds prospect 17-0 stopped in 1st round last night. Didnt see the fight as I was at work, but is this loss damaging?

Usually there's video on BBTV after the fight so expect that in a few days.

On the same show Martin Bakole did Dominic Akinlade in one too. Bakole is Illunga Makabu's brother or cousin or something. Perhaps an interesting up and comer in the Heavyweight division.

Wow, that's a massive upset. A might of mine said he's watched him train a few times and was really singing his praises, his is/was the IBF 'Youth World Champion' too.

Him and Dubois were sparring a month or so ago for a week , that would have been good to watch !!

Weird stoppage, he seemed to be recovering. He looked gone before like, was this in Manchester?

Martin Ilunga only scraped a MD against professional opponent Ferenc Zsalek which doesn't say much. He also went the distance with the Pole who Okolie and Allen KO'd in the first.

The win over Aklinlade probably says more about the latter.

well the opponent definately came to win, he was throwing hooks like the 'wild man of borneo'

the stoppage looked a bit premature but reece had been hurt a few times so benefit of doubt to the ref. its the kind of stoppage an away fighter normally gets against them. reece will learn more from it than half a dozen knock over jobs. he will learn to box and not just try to bang people out.the guy needed keeping at range and picking off, not trading at close quarters.

Seemed like a fine stoppage to me. Almost as soon as he showed any signs of regrouping, Cartwright was hurt again.
