Crawford vs. Garcia (Who wins?)

If this fight happened at 140 who wins?
Would the Garcias duck if Arum agreed to it? Would Crawford duck if Mikey called him out?

I like the guy with better movement, rangier punch variety and physical advantages against the boxer/puncher. Granted Garcia has a lot of strings to his bow, speed, timing, power.
At 140 I've got Crawford on decision.

I'd struggle to find an advantage for Garcia in this fight. Lopsided, but competitive, decision for the p4p king.

Broner fight showed that Garcia doesn't belong in 140. Not yet at least. His power doesn't carry. Despite a clear technical advantage he could not shift Broner. And towards the end it was Mikey that was struggling with Broners physicality, gasping for air and looking weak. If he cant out fight Broner what chance does he have against Crawford? I cant see it. He needs to go back down to 135. Although then there is Loma waiting for him there, threatening to box his head off. He is caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. So what does typical Haymon fighter do in this situation? I think we all know the answer but we shall see.

The ninth was the only round in which Garcia looked remotely vulnerable. Broner has a solid chin and wasn't hurt by Porter either...

Did you notice that "what the fk am I doing here" look on his face right about round ten?

That was a very messy fight though, broner doing his usual thing of nothing, Porter wrestling, smothering any imside punches he had a chance of landing. Not a great example that in my book, no real chin test in that one.
However I do agree generally broner is strong and gutsy. He's not getting put over easy

Absolutely no way Porter is making 140. Unless that was your point. If so, well done you got me.

He made 143,5 for Broner. Which is probably another reason he was not looking too strong.
The point is that Garcia had a decisive advantage throughout the fight, more then Porter, more then Maidana. But that did not translate into a physical domination. For a big puncher that obliterates people at 135 this means that he is not effective enough at 140.

I noticed him beating the breaks off of Broner down the stretch. As anyone watching would have.

I don't completely disagree re whether Garcia power is coming up enough to hurt 140-147 guys. We'll see in time
Any Crawford fight vs Porter though would be at 147 surely

You dont believe me, so here Garcia saying exactly what I said, Broner was too big and he will return down to 135.

I think Crawford vs Porter would go much like Crawford vs Diaz. Similar styles.
MG would have respectable power at 147. Skill is more important. He beat Broner worse than Porter did.

Betting odds. Indongo is a huge underdog against Crawford. You can get around +800 on Indongo.

I went back and rewatched Crawford vs Postol to see how Crawford dealt with a taller fighter , and realized they are vastly different opponents. Indongo is a tough fight for anyone and I think Crawford may have some hometown cooking to help him if he needs it.

How about Garcia vs Garcia ?

Garcia would have a chance... He's more focused than Crawford and wastes fewer punches.. He doesn't have the power and size -- but usually after a couple feel-em-out rounds he quickly gets ahead. That way he can sit back and wait for you, picking you off. I've never seen him relinquish control with the jab and he's one of the most dead-on focused fighters I've ever seen. He's better than Floyd so far as maintaining that intensity.
