Why not Charllo vs Jacobs or Lemieux ??

As far as I remember Golovkin had a very long hard road to get the big fights. He fought every top contender from 160 division before he got the fight with Canelo. Why Charllo should get a free pass to fight the best just because he beat an one legged fighter ?!
I want to see Charllo earning his shot!

Are you familiar with Gennady Golovkin's resume?
The very first top-five 160lb-er he ever faced was Daniel Geale, prior to that bout, his best two opponents were merely the borderline top-ten middleweights Grzegorz Proksa and Matthew Macklin.
GGG was making his 11th defence of the WBA title when he fought Geale. Prior to that bout, the vast majority of his fights were against anonymous unheraled opponents ranked outside the top ten of the division.
The only time that Golovkin has ever fought the top 160lb-er (excluding himself), was during his previous bout against Danny Jacobs.
GGG earned your praise without requiring the need to validate his talent by facing the very best the middleweight division has to offer, which also compelled you to demand that the big name fighters stop avoiding him.
So why do you now insist that Charlo has to face all the best 160lbs for him to not only be granted an opportunity to share the ring with Golovkin, but also earn your respect?
Double standards?

Murray, Geale, Macklin, Proksa, Stevens and Rubio - all were top 10 contenders when GGG fought them! Then he fought champions like Lemieux and Jacobs! WTF Jermall did at 160 to be considered '
the man that GGG has to fight!' ?? Beating a one legged mandatory ??
Beat someone like Jacobs or Lemieux and I'd say this man deserves a shot at the champion!

You're response is driven purely by emotional bias rather than factual accuracy... So let me remind you of the reality of Golovkin's reaume since 2011, with this information posted to the forum numerous times...
Enlightened-One wrote:I thought I’d perform a statistical review of his career for the last five years, using a combination of the Ring Magazine's divisional ratings, coupled with BoxRec’s resume information.
I used the “WayBackMachine” internet archive website to gather the Ring Magazine divisional ranking of each opponent at the time of their contest against Golovkin. Also, to simplify things, I rated their champ as the number one ranked fighter in the 160lb division and everybody else accordingly.
Note: This post is not meant to undermine Golovkin’s feats, but to help you evaluate his achievements and his dominant performances in their true context, based on the calibre of the opposition he has been facing. So please don’t get too upset about the things I’ve written, because everything I’ve stated is factually-correct, based on information supplied by reliable third-party sources.
My comments are in the context of the facts of each world title contender at the time they entered the ring against Golovkin:
Date: 23/04/16 Opponent: Dominic Wade Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: Unranked
A lightly-regarded opponent whose only accomplishment was scoring a controversial decision victory over a 41 year old shot version of Sam Soliman
Date: 17/10/15 Opponent: David Lemieux Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: 5
Was the IBF champion (after competing for the vacant belt and having never defended his crown), a former light middleweight, at the time of the GGG fight, had suffered two losses on his record, with one of them being a stoppage defeat to Marco Antonio Rubio (who himself was KO'd inside two rounds by Golovkin)
Date: 16/05/15 Opponent: Willie Monroe Jr Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: Unranked
A former light middleweight that was lightly-regarded and was untested, having never previously competed against a top-ten world-rated middleweight prior to the Golovkin bout
Date: 21/02/15 Opponent: Martin Murray Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: 7
A two-time failed world title challenger, with only one loss on his resume prior to facing Golovkin
Date: 18/10/14 Opponent: Marco Antonio Rubio Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: 8
A former welterweight and two-time failed world title challenger, with six losses on his resume, that had previously been dominated or stopped by Chavez Jr. and Pavlik
Date: 26/07/14 Opponent: Daniel Geale Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: 3
A former world middleweight champion that had already tasted defeat against Golovkin in the amateurs and lost his world title in his penultimate bout prior to facing GGG
Date: 01/02/14 Opponent: Osumanu Adama Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: Unranked
One-time failed world title challenger, a former light middleweight and a lightly-regarded opponent
Date: 02/11/13 Opponent: Curtis Stevens Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: 11
An anonimous fighter that had already lost three times prior to facing Golovkin, one of them to the lightly regarded Jessie Brinkley
Date: 29/06/13 Opponent: Matthew Macklin Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: 7
A former welterweight, one time failed world title challenger and entered the ring against GGG having lost two of his previous three bouts
Date: 30/03/13 Opponent: Nobuhiro Ishida Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: Unranked
A former light middleweight that had failed to win ten of his bouts, entered the ring against Golovkin having tasted defeat in his previous two outings
Date: 19/01/13 Opponent: Gabriel Rosado Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: Unranked
A former light middleweight, having lost five fights, that had never previously engaged in either a 160lb bout nor a world title fight
Date: 01/09/12 Opponent: Grzegorz Proksa Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: 10
Was defeated in one of his previous three bouts immediately prior to facing Golovkin and was also a former light middleweight
Date: 12/05/12 Opponent: Makoto Fuchigami Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: Unranked
An anonimous fighter that had already lost six times
Date: 09/12/11 Opponent: Lajuan Simon Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: Unranked
A failed world title challenger that had lost three of his previous five bouts at the time he fought Golovkin… and had even lost his previous bout immediately prior to facing GGG
Date: 17/06/11 Opponent: Kassim Ouma Divisional Ring Magazine Rating: Unranked
A former welterweight contender and 154lb world champion that had tasted defeat in five of his previous seven bouts at the time he entered the ring against Golovkin
Are you seriously suggesting that Jermall Charlo isn't a better title challenger than the vast majority of opponents detailed in the above post?

Yeah you made your point bro!

A win over a one legged Heilend with losses against ATG's like Zbik, Tapia, Godoy and Veron is more than enough to get a shot to GGG

You've conveniently side-stepped the obviously glaring issues with GGG's resume and also your application of double-standards, haven't you kid?

Beat someone like Jacobs or Lemieux and I'd say this man deserves a shot at the champion!

Champions moving up in weight are always given high rankings by the organization they had the belt with, if not just given an immediate title shot. Watch Boxing much? Why are you listing Golovkin's title defenses like they were before he had the belt? Comparing Apples to Airplanes are you? Golovkin had fought NOBODY when he got his shot.

Hell, even the recent semi-shot version of Martin Murray would be a decent opponent for Jermall !

He will probably get that belt by fighting some bum but that doesn't mean he's a top mw fighter. Jermall should call out the other top 160 fighters like Jacobs, Lemieux , etc !

Yeah, that's what everyone does when they're a mandatory.
I'm not sure what you're crying about. Charlo is a great fight with either one of them.

I am fine with the 3G v GingerHead winner v Charlo if it is made, but I have no problem with 3G going with a rematch if GingerHead wants it. I also have no problem with 3G doing whatever makes good financial sense for him given he will likely only have a total of five fights before retirement.

This is bullsh*t. Some boxing fans need to stop acting like two adjacent weight divisions are as far apart as basketball and baseball. If you were an elite, professional LMW; then you are also a formidable, professional MW. It's not like he's transitioning from boxing to football. He's just a big LMW boxer who is now a medium-sized MW who is going to be taking-on another medium-sized MW. Charlo is taller than Golovkin, has a longer reach than Golovkin, they weighed within a quarter-pound of each other in their latest weigh-ins, and they are currently ranked #2 and #3 at middleweight on boxrec. Also, little known secret, the MW and LMW divisions draw upon the exact same set of boxing skills. They aren't two different sports. It would be f*cking asinine if someone said Mayweather had to prove himself at LMW before he got a shot at Oscar De La Hoya, or that Hopkins had to prove himself at LHW before fighting Tarver, or that Calzaghe had to prove himself at LHW before fighting Hopkins -- they had proven themselves plenty in other divisions, and that proof doesn't go away. It's only a 6-pound jump in weight, Charlo was already killing himself to make LMW, so he doesn't even have to gain the full 6 pounds, and he has over a year to add the 3 or 4 pounds that he would ideally be gaining.

Charlo is a kind of a champion who didn't fight other top dogs in his division, so in no way he deserved a shot at Golovkin. It would be a good fight anyway, but Golovkin can find better choices after he beats Canelo.

Trout & Williams were both deserving do that is bullshit. Ggg is the kind of fighter that fought nobody to earn a title shot.

GGG didn't get shots at top dogs at his division before he had a title for a long time.

GGG got a shot at the title for beating nobody. It's Charlo's fault that the champion is great instead of a vacant paper title? Gtfoh

Charlo/Jacobs would be a great fight and should definitely happen, but probably won't for the same reason Porter is fighting Dulorme instead of Spence or Garcia or Peterson.

No problem with Charlo getting a shot, but I don't think he deserves the GGG boogeyman status a lot are already giving him (seen plenty of 'he's ducking!' lol). Will people start giving that to Hurd too if he beats Trout better than Charlo did?
SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Trout & Williams were both deserving do that is bullshit. Ggg is the kind of fighter that fought nobody to earn a title shot.
If GGG had fought no one to earn a shot, neither had Williams. Guys like Ian Gardner and Sergey Khomitsky would easily be up there among Williams' best wins...

Williams deserving, next sentence, GGG fought nobody. I think it's pretty easy to see why someone could read it as I did...

I guess you didn't read what it was in response to. Sometimes that can be crucial.
