If Eubank Jr wins the WBSS, him vs Golovkin at 168 lbs would be massive!

Even after he loses to Canelo?
I have a feeling he'll retire when he loses, I don't mean that as a criticism I just have a feeling he won't fight on.

If G loses and the fight ends in 'it could've gone either way' and there is a demand for a rematch, I'm pretty sure GGG would be advised to take it.

Other than that I agree that he would probably retire.

I think it's a big IF he wins the WBSS.
If he does, and this fight magically happens, I could see him out working Canelo. But it's all pie in the sky stuff. Mainly because CE Jr dosent have the profile stateside yet to bring the $$$

That's 4 fights or so down the timeline, so call it 2 years. A lot can change in 2 years and it wouldn't be unreasonable to think golovkin being mid to late 30s by then is declining.
I only give this fight 2% chance of happening there's so many things that need to come off as time goes on.
As far as I'm concerned eubank had the chance to fight ggg in one of the biggest challenges in boxing but jacked his opportunity for greatness for some more $ he thought he was worth (he wasn't) and his old man wanting control of the show. He's an idiot for letting that opportunity slide

The fight was already massive when Eubank Jr. and Eddie Hearn had originally attempted to make a bout with Golovkin, but the deadline to sign the contract had lapsed, allowing Kell Brook to face GGG instead.
By the time Gennady faces Canelo and then engages in a possible rematch, he’ll be a 36 year old veteran that could possibly be ready for the taking, which is part of the reason why Abel Sanchez feels that GGG will likely consider retirement after his bout(s) against Alvarez.
I feel that if a 36 year old version of Gennady Golovkin engages in a rematch against Danny Jacobs or alternatively faces hungry young talented lions like Jermall Charlo or Chris Eubank Jr. in twelve months time or more, then he may suffer a loss due to being past-his-physical-prime.
Maybe this is the real reason why Abel Sanchez has quickly dismissed the possibility of GGG sharing the ring against the likes of Jermall Charlo or possibly engaging in an immediate rematch against Danny Jacobs after their incredibly competitive and slightly controversial nature of their first bout?
I hate seeing great fighters suffer losses against less talented fighters, simply because they’ve continued their careers too long… and I really hope that GGG doesn’t suffer the same fate.

-I don't think it would be quite as massive as what you have in mind. Eubank doesn't seem to be blessed with elite drawing power, and I'm not sure that winning a few fights would revolutionize that.
-This also assumes that Golovkin would remain undefeated despite a potentially hard path through Alvarez and Charlo. I kind of wish you qualified that (in the post, not the title, because that'd be a mouthful), because it matters a lot.
-Golovkin would be somewhat ancient by the time this rolls around. Some Golovkin fans are already claiming that his prime is starting to end, to make excuses about why he struggled with Jacobs and to excuse in advance a potential loss to Alvarez. But truly, he is already 35, and will probably be 37 before he has a chance to face the WBSS winner. Odds are that his abilities will have noticeably declined by then.
