Who would win in their prime between George Chuvalo and Eddie Machen? If Machen used his smooth boxing skills and countering Chuvalo like Ali, Patterson, Ellis, Folley and Mathis did, then Machen would likely win by decision in 15 rounds. If Chuvalo manages to cut Machen off the ropes and working on the body with heavy blows, he would have a puncher chance to win between 11 to 15 rounds. Tell me what is your opinion.

Machen would probably win a decision in a competitive fight. Chuvalo was certainly capable of winning; for example the way he fought against Patterson would probably have been enough. More often than not though, Machen wins this. He was a little too quick and smart.

Chuvalo would have put too much presurre on Machen,not give him time to think and Chuvalo gets the dicision.

The Chuvalo that stopped Doug Jones in '64 would have done the same to Machen - wear him down with a relentless body assault, punish him on the ropes and finally drop him for the count in 10.

I watched Eddie Machen give Liston a tough fight the other night Eddie was a very good fighter Machen both he and Chuvalo were tough as they come but I think Eddie was the better all round fighter and would win a split dec in a see-sawing fight.

Machen. No doubt. Machen was simply a better fighter.
