Canelo Vs. GGG no longer B0xnati0n PPV?

B0xnati0n have gone very quiet about their PPV plan for this event.
Found this earlier on the BT Sport website:
http://sport.bt.com/football/free-bt-sp ... 4200076081
"Anyone signing up for BT Sport for the first time before August 15th, 2017 will get their initial year free. Here's how you can snap up this incredible offer, plus a detailed look at what you get with a BT Sport subscription......... Big-time boxing has arrived on BT Sport after we made B0xNati0n, Britain’s only full-time boxing TV station, available to subscribers earlier this year. World, European and Commonwealth title fights –
including the upcoming super-fight between Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez - are among 20 prime-time Saturday events shown throughout the year."
Seems fairly clear the fight will be on BT Sport. Don't know if that means it's not PPV anymore.

The Copperbox show which was meant to be the lead in for the original PPV is now on BT/BN. It was a silly idea trying to charge PPV in the first place Which I'm glad to see they have obviously realised. Last time I checked there wasn't even any undercard fights announced yet by GBP so the card below the main is not going to be great.

That's the thing when the copperbox show was announced PPV wasn't mentioned once.
It's been a few weeks now

Fwank can't stage a UK show worthy of PPV for three reasons.
1. He hasn't got the name fighters
2. His shows usually fall apart or change a lot
3. His best fighters are unknown to the public
He should pass on the GGG fight, if the alternative is to charge BN subscribers a separate charge to see it. If he can't make money from the BN subscription and his income from the BT deal it's time to give up.

Very strange as he kept continually saying announcements will be coming in next few weeks re PPV but nothing since.
Didn't comment on last IFL in regards to it but still shows PPV on allegedly site.

From a marketing strategy perspective it's probably best to keep your powder dry until after Floyd Mayweather Vs Conor McGregor. That event is absorbing all the media attention.

I cancelled BN yesterday partly because I thought PPV was taking the piss if you're paying each month.

I wonder if fwank would ideally want BN subscribers to get it for free, but BT customers would have to pay. I imagine BT would be like, what the fxxk did we pay £100m for then ?! Everyone wants in on PPV but fwank is playing with fire. I can understand the temptation though.

They had never confirmed subscribers would be paying to date though ? That was just speculation.

I don't understand all the fvcking confusion. We're a month away from the best fight of the year and neither BN nor BT Sport have announced definite plans. It all seems a bit amateurish.

I think they are waiting until after Mayweather and Mcgregor.
Still this needs clarifying sharpish.

What did they say at BN? Surely you gave a reason for cancelling and they would have tried to persuade you to stay?

I never could understand it being PPV in the UK in the first place.
This is a cracking fight but the casuals who you need to buy a PPV to make it a success don't have a clue who either of the fighters are. The boxing fans who can't wait for this fight either already have BN or BT Sports, BN already has a subscription & BT just paid a lot of money to broadcast the best BN fights.

I think it's more the Mayweather/McGregror has likely ruined their PPV offering - whatever you think of the fight it's going to do huge numbers where as this fight might be a great contest but won't sell a fraction to Non Boxing fans at 4.30am.
You can see the amount of Non Boxing fans buying Sat night - I work with 4-5 who are all getting it and can't stop talking about it.

Still stuff to confirm. Initially the talk was having a big support card in the uk (Saunders and Flanagan) as part of the PPV to make it a long night.
But when that Saunders show was announced not one mention of PPV at all.
I think it will work like the plan for the distaster out rescheduled Fury Klitchko rematch. The fight is on BN but there will be an easy way for non BN subscribers to pay and watch the fight.

Would think allegedly sub for x months = free
& everyone else / BT package deal has to pay.
If they had the Hughie - Parker & BJS - Monroe with GGG - Canelo a few hours later as a non allegedly subscriber i might have considered paying for it...
For example what they should (could?) have done
BT:
random undercards
Dubois V AJ Carter
Yarde v Ford
Smith V williams
A allegedly PPV after:
Parker Vs Hughie
BJS vs Monroe
----long wait---
random undercards
Canelo vs GGG
No?
Iv got a feeling ill get one with the Virgin tv package and stream the other 2 though...

Surprised any American fight is ever PPV in the U.K.
You got a lot of gall to charge somebody money for ANYTHING at 3 AM.
Outside of maybe Hookers or Drugs

Every US PPV I've ever paid for I feel like I've been shortchanged
Hang on, the same goes for most UK ones as well..

I have a feeling the announcement of how to watch Canelo Vs. GGG has been delayed until they have sorted out PPV on the various TV platforms. I think it'll turn out trying to launch the facility on Virgin Media has been a drag. I'd imagine a allegedly PPV app will pop up on TiVo and V6 fairly soon.....
