I believe all States now have mandatory 5 days rest period after each fight. Which means same day tournaments are now history.

Other rules:-
KO/TKO scores 28 or 30 (depending where registered) days holiday
2 consecutive KO/TKO 60 days
3 consecutive KO/TKO 90 days

No Mars Bar for guessing what happens after that ;-)

Mundine is out there shooting the breeze, so he could be candidate for Sakio.

But Mundine would want too much money.

Mundine has given Sakio a very wide birth for years and it is hard to see that changing now.

Yes Smithy is having welterweight super 8. Jack Asis will be hard to beat even though he's smaller than the other fighters. Few old veterans like Mick Shaw and Jason Kanofski will make things interesting as well as current Qld Welterweight champ and Aussie Title challenger Jamie Hilt.

These things often produce an unexpected finalist and sometimes the smokey goes on to win the chocolates as well.

Mentioned veterans could be OK to contest one day tournament, as they are no longer registered with any Gov regulator, providing ANBF Qld hasn't adopted same regulation as other States. Asis is still NSW registered boxer, therefore would be disallowed, because ANBF Qld would not be unable to get a clearance to contest such.

Not sure how it’s going to work then but Smithy has advertised for a super 8 to be contested in the day with 3 rounders and the winner to go on. Only time will tell I suppose.
