Has anyone ever seen this kid fight in the amateurs? He is making his pro debut October 5th in Connecticut and is supposed to have ridiculous power; Marquis Williams. Is he another hype job?

In my experience it's never a good thing to put that on a guy.

That he's the "Next Tyson.."

"Next Mayweather..."

"Next Chavez..."

"Next Tito..."

whatever. It puts a ridiculous hype machine on a guy's back where he's now being compared to a standard that will be nearly impossible to ever live up to, and those guys usually wind up not living up to the absurd amount of hype that surrounds them, through no fault of their own.

In short I guess what I'm saying is. He might be a really good fighter. Don't worry about whether he's the "Next Tyson"

Well I heard of him briefly and he is supposed to be legit, very strong.

He is a young kid, only 19 I think.

I've never heard of him but I haven't followed the amateur scene in decades. I'm going to say he's unlikely to be the next Tyson. Good luck to him though.

There's been a few next tysons and mini tysons for the guys that fought at lower weights

Basically if you look like you could be a wrecking machine you get the possible tyson label
