For the British Lightweight Title. Anybody have any strong opinions on how this one plays out. I'm really hopeful Lewis can win as North east Boxing has been pretty sparse since the Dickinson's retired. Tommy Ward and Josh Kelly are doing well now so hopefully Lewis can help gain some momentum. He seems a smooth, spiteful boxer from the few clips I can find but this is his step up, Barrett's draw with Scott Cardle obviously the stand out on his record.

It's a shame allegedly didn't bid on this fight. It would have been ideal on the undercard of Smith Williams.

Good fight, I've not seen much of Ritson and he's not fought anybody of note. Barrett certainly had the tougher tests and coming off three good wins.

Ritson beats Barrett wide imo.Eddie will likely sign him and pair him up with Josh Kelly in the North East.

From what ive seen of Ritson he just needs that break out fight domestically.I dont know if Robbie Barrett is that fight but hes certainly not going to be short of big fights at lightweight.

Hope so. Still never sure until they make the step up. Trained by billy nelson i think, so never a bad thing.

Watched a few videos of ritson online , feel
This is a 50/50 , ritson seems to come straight in will need more movement and faints against the southpaw . Should be a good fight .

For me Lewis Ritson wins this.

How good is he spud? Watched few videos all be it against lesser opposition didn't look anything spectacular?

I thought Barrett looked impressive against Cardle, got put down a couple of times but all in all he outboxed Cardle all night, doesn't look the strongest but is a tidy boxer, haven't seen much if any of Ritson but going by his record this is a big step up, fancy Barrett to outbox him

Interesting how this goes. Looking at his record Ritson hasn't been tested yet at all.

Personally think the winner needs to fight Dodd though. Really he should be belt holder outright now.

Disgraceful champion. Two absolute gifts v Dodd and he tried to get a draw classed as a successful defence. Then probably ducked a third fight with Dodd ( Hearn was very vocal on IFL about wanting that fight) and he 100% ducked Luke Campbell who was desperate to fight for the British title.

Robbie Barrett beating him was my favourite domestic result this year. Barrett was picked as an easy defence to get the belt outright and it backfired against them.

Impressed with Barrett and was chuffed he got the deserved result against Cardle.
I honestly thought it would have gone the same way as with Unfortunate Dodd.

Yeh I understand what you are getting at but from what I was told he had been lined up for a bigger and better opportunity that unfortunately failed to materialise. It’s not quite as simple as it sometimes seems this boxing lark ! .
He’s certainly not fight shy as taking on a highly rated unbeaten prospect abroad would indicate .
