How would he have fared against
AARON PRYOR
JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ
MELDRICK TAYLOR
RICKY HATTON
If he fought each fighter in their prime @ 140....

I think he would beat all of them, Taylor being the toughest fight.

Pryor and Taylor would be hard nights for him.
I think he'd have outboxed Chavez and Hatton comfortably. Lopsided UD over Chavez, He'd stop Hatton.

Don't quite know enough about the first three, but I'd confidently back him over Hatton.

There's a good case to be made for him being the best fighter in the world right now, you would have to give him a good shot against any of those guys.
I'm going to say he would go into each as favorite but if he fought all 4, he'd win 3 of 4

Who has he beat to make you think he could beat an ATG like Chavez? As of yet he is not fit to carry his jockstrap!

Who did Chavez ever beat to make you think he could beat someone like Crawford? Legitimately beat I should say.

Have a good look at his record, he had about 30 defences. Comparable defences for me would be Crawford v Burns and Chavev v Holligan. Holligan was better than Burns, the difference is frightening.

I'd give Pryor and Taylor a good chance, not sure if i'd make them favourites but they've got the tools to trouble Crawford, prime Hatton was a handful for anyone at 140 but I think Crawford's class would win on the day, Chavez would be lucky if he won 2 rounds against Bud

I'd favour Crawford in 2.
I think he'd figure Taylor out and also box Hattons head off.
I'd favour Pryor and I think Chavez would find a way to hurt him.
But he's not out of his depth against any of them. Talented fighter. His general perception reminds me of a prime Don Curry. Just hope it doesn't go wrong at WW.
The most important aspect of Crawfords career now is Arum and Al working together on fights involving him.

With weigh in times etc... Chavez would simply be up against a faster, more powerful and bigger man...who has an elite skill set to match his own. Chavez didn't have one shot power either. He never looked entirely convincing above 135 and he'd have campaigned at lower weights in today's game.
Pryor had fitness and volume but Crawford has far better technique and would win clearly.
Hatton would make a great fight out of it and would be a live underdog 70-30 in Crawford's favour.
Taylor is much closer. His ring intelligence might be his downfall.

Right now I hope Tel moves up to 147. In an ideal world he fights Thurman, Porter, Spence and Brook (if he is still around). There is enough talent at the weight for someone to emerge as great for the ages.
Please don't ruin this by pointing out that these fights will never get made.

Saad hates Chavez. If I remember correctly he lost a bet on the first Taylor fight and never forgave him.
Saad, if I'm misrepresenting you here I apologise.

I've found that many Americans underrate Chavez ( I don't know if saad is American) I don't really understand it myself he fought everyone beating them all till he lost in nearly his 90th fight yet they say he fought bums because he would fight in Mexico in front of his fans in-between title fights

Tyzsu would beat Crawford too.
Crawford was lucky he only had to beat the Ricky Burns of this world to unify, and maybe he is unlucky he doesn't have elite quality opponents at the weight to show his worth.
But really? Beating Indungo puts him in an all time great category??
I bet you think Tyson will still be champ if Cus D'amato was still alive!

You could pick 15 more which are better than Indungo!

I'm quite aware of his record, don't have to look it up. How about answering my question instead of changing it?

Taylor wasn't legitimate, I think Crawford is better than Camacho and Rosario, but at least that's an answer. If that's it, then it certainly isn't out of line to think Chavez would have a tough night against a fighter where his only clear advantage would be legacy.

Chavez certainly lost to fighters that would give TC a lot of trouble. He didn't ask whom rated higher historically, he asked whom you thought would win fights. Two different questions.
No, I think he has all time skills, his resume doesn't rate all time at all.
Nope, I knew Tyson was overrated when he was 'invincible'. In fact, my friends all thought I was crazy for saying Holyfield would beat him before he even went to Heavyweight.

I hated Chavez long before I was robbed of a fortune in the Whitaker fight(didn't have money on Taylor), I hate Leonard much more, hate or love doesn't affect my ability to rate fighters. Chavez was certainly a great fighter, but he would be up against it facing a fighter like Crawford. His legacy won't win it for him. Julio is easily a top 75 all time great and a top 7 all time Mexican.

Taylor
Camache
Haugen
Lockeridge
Mayweather
Laporte
Limon
Rosario
Ramerez
Tony Lopez
Gonzalez
And Crawford has beaten Indungo and Burns! Crawford may well beat some on my list but they are all better than anyone he has beaten already
